While they were on the road, Mike felt that Jess flinched a bit. He looked at her abruptly and checked her, but there was no follow-up movement. Mike gulped as he checked her pulse on her neck, but, ironically, there’s no pulse he could find. He then checked her breathing by his ear. None. This made Mike felt a bit terrified, as he held Jess closer to his chest. Max and Lucas looked over at Mike curiously,

“What is it, dude? Are you ok?” Lucas asked with a concern, as he also held Jess’s arm,

“Mike, you’re turning white...” Max muttered as she observed Mike,

“Steve... Where exactly are we going??” Mike asked frantically, as he kept touching Jess’s neck for a pulse,

“We are about to get back to where you came from, guys, why?” Steve said, as he kept peeking at them while driving, “Wha... What’s wrong, Buddy?”

“Dude?? What’s happening to her??” Dustin drawled, quite frantic as he glanced at unconscious Jess.

“Ca... Can you drive faster?? To Max' house?? She... She’s not breathing!” Mike yelled frantically, which made Steve shot his head to him in panic,

“What??? Oh... Alright! Alright!... Just be calm, buddy...-“ Steve said calmly and then stepped on the gas and drove with the full speed.

“We are losing her, guys!!” Mike yelled, as though he can’t hold it any longer, as Lucas and Max also went frantic as they kept shaking and calling Jess to wake up, until Mike did something unintentionally. He performed a CPR to Jess right on the spot as a desperate move.

Max, Lucas and Dustin gaped, as they looked at each other, hence, the panic feeling they were having, and just telling their selves why didn’t they even thought about it in a first place. The moment Mike gave Jess the mouth to mouth, an unexpected sensation ran through him. He felt as though something like a vacuum was draining him, until he felt exhausted as though he had run thousand miles, until everything went black.

Max, Lucas and Dustin witnessed that Jess suddenly breathed in deeply, and then breathed out, but was still unconscious on Mike’s lap. Three of them who stared at her got dismayed, as they knew she won’t wake for a moment. But then, they were dumbfounded even more when they noticed her bruises and wounds were healing in a fast forward.

“What happened, guys? Why are you so quiet?”  Steve was about to check the three at the back, wondered why they’ve gone silent, but cut off by Max’s cracking voice,

“Mike’s unconscious...” Max muttered, as she stared at unconscious Mike seated beside her. Steve seemed he lost it with Max, and was thinking on what Mike did to the girl. Max checked Mike’s pulse and then she confirmed them that he’ll be ok, hence, the nervous feeling they still felt.

“Bro, Coach reminded us about the victory party at his place later, you comin’ with us, right?” Carter, who just fixed his gym bag and carried over his shoulder,

“Yeah, bro! Everyone’s invited! Damn how I needed some chill...” Mcneal exclaimed gleefully as him and Carter fist bump each other, and waited for Will, who was about to close his locker.

“Wanted to, but, nah, bro... My family’s outside waiting for me... so... regards to Coach, then? We’ll talk tomorrow about the matter...”  Will said, as he zipped his gym bag closed.

“Are you sure, bro? Maddie will be there...?” Mcneal said, though slowly, as though he was trying to persuade Will with it.

“Oop, careful Mcneal... He might gonna say yes...” Johnson said, grinning, who was zipping up his bag closed. Carter and Mcneal exchanged glances as they low-key giggled, but then,

“Madison...” Will muttered, as he stared blankly in space, as if thinking about the answer to the very difficult question in the exam, “Yea- no, bro... maybe... I’ll just... stop by... if I still have time... sort of...” Will stammered, and then trailed off, as he carried his gym bag over his shoulder, ignoring the reactions of the 3, and went to them and gave them a low-key fist-bump, “Just say hi to her for me, ok bro?” Will said shortly, and then went straight to the door and out of the room, though girls from the bleachers were about to meet him outside excitedly, but didn’t give them any attention and just continued walking away as if he didn’t see them there.

“Well, what time will you be there??” Mcneal called after, but Will seemed didn’t hear him.

The moment he laid his eyes on Joyce and the two, who were standing near the doorway, waiting, a face of Dylan Kingsley was blocking his view. He and his gang seemed they were also waiting for his presence, walked closer to him,

“Great game you got there, bro.” Dylan said, quite gravely, as he grinned at him, as if there was something in the way he grins. “What can I say... Congrats, then... But it doesn’t mean I’m over it. Have fun being captain while it’s still yours.” He said lamely, as his friends behind him smirked quietly, and then slowly stepped aside and gave him a proper path to the doorway as if they were respecting him. Will clenched his jaw, and somehow felt odd and not liking whatever Dylan was doing to him now, and just continued his steps farther away from the group. El noticed everything. She learned that being as jock and famous as he was now, was not perfect at all. It’s still the same feeling as he felt when they were in Hawkins. The only difference was the place.
