Chapter 9:

Mina's P.O.V~

I haven't been paying attention towards the lesson in class. Chaeyoung picked me up this morning and we walked to school together. That dream I had last night is still bothering me. Maybe I should ask her about it because she knows more than me. But what if she's lying to me? She could be making up things and the truth is she's actually really abusive. I sigh. Knowing her, she doesn't seem like the type to hurt me.

It's lunch time and I packed up my bags and headed out of my classroom. Until a hand tapped on my shoulder. I turned around and saw her. I thought she was Jihyo. I looked down at Chaeyoung and she was smiling, she mouthed "Ready?" and I just nodded. We walked towards somewhere else other than the canteen. What? Where are we going? "Where are we going?" I voiced out my thoughts as we started walking up the stairs. She giggled and placed her index finger over her smiling plump lips. I stare for a second. Never knew her lips were so plump.

We finally reached the destination. The rooftop. So this is where she goes instead of the canteen. Not that I cared. It was just, I never really noticed her in the canteen besides the time that bitch Jenny bullied my little cub. MY!? CUB!? What's wrong with me? I hate this girl.

I saw the others here too. Jihyo, Dahyun, and Tzuyu. For some reason, this tugged something in my heart. Like it was a weird feeling where you see your whole family once again after a long time. It felt like home? Is that what I'll call it?

Chaeyoung suddenly brought out lunch boxes and handed it to me. What? I was shocked for a second until she grabbed my hand and placed it on my hands. She smiled while doing so. Woah, this feels like deja vu. She did the same towards the others like it was such a normal thing. I'm still too shocked where Jihyo had to practically drag me towards the others.

We all started eating like it was so normal. I've eaten in the canteen with the others, just not Chaeyoung. Even when Chaeyoung isn't speaking, she does these little cute and caring things towards me that tug something within me. God damn, what are you doing to me Chaeyoung?

We finished our food and Jihyo said she had to go back to the Student Administration Office to help with some of the file reports in there. Dahyun and Tzuyu had to leave for god knows what. I didn't hear where they were going since it seemed like they only told Chaeyoung and just said bye to me.

Now it's just Chaeyoung and I. Chaeyoung is by the rail, looking out at the view. I go over to her and do the same thing. It was silent between us. It wasn't awkward, it was like I was finally warming up to Chaeyoung. It's weird. Gosh I wish I can just go back and hate her so I don't have to deal with so many things and so many feelings. But here we are. Staring out at the view of students and nature.

"It's beautiful isn't it?" I hear Chaeyoung say. I look over towards her. "Yeah, it is." I smile and look back at the view. I hear her sigh. "Is there something you wanna ask me?" Chaeyoung said to break the silence. I give her a confused look. "What do you mean?" I ask her back. Wanting to know if she has intentions. "Jihyo told me you were spacing out during class. She was worried and thought it might connect back to me." Chaeyoung fidgeted.

Should I tell her? It won't hurt, right? "I had a dream last night. Well, more like a flashback?" I said trying to convince myself. Chaeyoung shifted her body so the left side of her body was leaning against the rail, facing her body towards me, giving me the attention. It looked like she was telling me to continue, saying she'll lend her ears.

"I don't know. I was worried about you and then you came and I cried. I don't remember what I was worried about. Maybe because you weren't there with me?" I started fidgeting with my fingers. Chaeyoung was bold enough to hold my hands so they won't fidget. Holding them with such care. I look at her. What did she deserve to be heartbroken over someone like me?

"Then we went towards the others. Sana-Chan clinged to you and I don't know. I was pissed. And then everyone made fun of us. That's all that happened." I look into her eyes. I saw security, love, and kindness within those eyes. Like she would give her whole world to me.

3rd P.O.V~

"What's happening Chaeng?" Mina asked Chaeyoung as she squeezed Chaeyoung's hands. Chaeyoung looked at Mina with a smile and brushed her hair behind her ear. "That's up for you to decide whether or not these are memories. I won't force you to remember our love and memories. Unless of course, your heart comes back to me." Was all Chaeyoung said before she planted a kiss on Mina's forehead and left Mina alone on the rooftop.

Mina was staring out at the view, taking in Chaeyoung's words. 'Memories? Are these memories? Or just neurological thoughts?' Mina asked herself and sighed. Feeling the wind blow past her. She went out of the rooftop and straight to her class as class was about to start.

'I remember Mina. I remember the day you hugged and cried on me because you missed me while I was messing up Taemin. I remember Sana-Unnie clinging to me and you getting jealous. I remember those memories. Now, will you remember them because your heart remembers me? Or because you force yourself to in order to keep our promise when there's no emotions?' A tear escaped Chaeyoung's eye. She wipes it immediately before anyone sees.

Chaeyoung starts writing in her song journal, continuing the song she has been writing.

"Before I closed the chapter to your name

There's a couple of things I never got to say

A smile appeared on Chaeyoung as she reminisced the days with Mina. She remembers the day where she kissed Mina in order to settle Mina's feelings. It was a traumatic experience, but in the end, Mina was there. And that's all that matters.

'You're everything that makes me fall in love Myoui.'
