Pig Roast

By evening the roast was ready. I had ordered picnic type foods from a local vendor. They didn’t have things like macaroni salad. After reviewing their menu with them I told them my budget and my planned main course. They said they would send everything that would make my meal superior.
Diavolo had ordered several demons to bring me tables and chairs. They were setting everything up as I checked the smoker one more time. Beel was watching from the side of the front lawn anxiously wringing his hands together. I chuckled. I knew him well and had a big surprise for him.
Asmo was lounging in a chair looking ever the delight as many demons went past him. I laughed at his out right flirtiness. He called out appealing aspects of the working demons physique.
“You are going to get into trouble one of these days doing things like that!” I called over to him. He waved a fan at me that he was using to ‘cool himself'.
“What do you know about these things?” He teased. I just laughed. Mammon came out then. He glanced at all the workers. Raising an eyebrow he walked up to me.
“I thought you said this was just for the House?” he looked at all the extra tables and chairs.
“It is. And Diavolo.” I added.
“Hmmm.” Was all he said as he rubbed his chin. He stalked over to talk to Beel.
Once all the workers left, the catering trucks arrived. Beelzie was practically hopping up and down at seeing all the food. I laughed. Walking over to him I placed a hand on his arm.
“Don’t worry. I have a surprise for you.” I told him. Turning to Lucifer who had just immerged from the house I asked:
“Do you mind just making sure no one eats anything before I come back down? I just want to shower and freshen up.” He looked around.
“It looks like things are well under control. Go ahead and do what you need to human.” He told me. With a gentle laugh I walked away.
Up in my room I gathered my things. Going in to the shower to wash off the days sweat and dirt was a nice feeling. The water was cool to my hot skin. I let it flow over me for a few minutes before washing my hair. Working my way along my body I took my time. When I was done I turned the water even colder. Standing there letting it freeze me for a bit was the most refreshing thing I could do.
Yet I had demons waiting on me. They had no patience! Stepping out I toweled off and got dressed. My hair was nearly dry by the time I walked out of the front doors. Diavolo had arrived.
The demon brothers, the Angel’s and Solomon were milling about the front yard sipping drinks. Beel was hovering over the cooker. I chuckled. Walking through the small crowd I made my way to where the meat was finishing up.
“Go have a seat, it's ready.” I told Beel. Smiling at me he called out to everyone else that the food was ready. The all sat. I pulled out the pig. It was tender and juicy. I set it on a carving block. Looking over to Beel I saw his mouth watering.
With a grin, I pulled out the second pig. Large eyes watched as I put this on a cart. I wheeled it over to the Avatar of Gluttony. “Here you go. I told you I had a surprise!”
Eyes as large as the moon he looked up at me. “This is all mine?” He asked. I nodded. He leapt up pulling me into a tight embrace. “You are the best human ever!” he cried. I giggled extracting myself from him.
“Enjoy.” I laughed as I went back to the first one. I carved up the meat as the demons came by with their plates. They picked out the piece they wanted and I served them. Once they were all happily eating I gathered a plate of the roast. Wandering over to the catered food I looked over it.
What was this stuff? Slimy tentacles, something that looked like bloody brains, a frozen heart? I think. Ugh. Good thing I had chips with me. I quickly walked away from the demon food. Dumping some chips from the bag on my plate I turned to find a seat.
Now the problem wasn’t that there wasn’t a seat for me, the issue was as soon as I turned around they all began:
“You're my human come sit with me.” Mammon ordered. Levi held up a book.
“I have some more news on the book we've been reading, come sit with me.” Actually he has been reading the book and just telling me about it.
Beel happily waved a bone at me pointing to the seat beside him. I chuckled as he looked to be happier than I had ever seen him. He also looked to be quite messy!
The Angel’s sat behind him. Simeon half naked looking like a snack himself pointed to the chair beside him. He looked pleadingly at me as Luke was obviously on one of his rants. Solomon took the seat next to Luke quieting him for now.
Belphegor looked like he was already for a nap, Satan sat beside him carefully choosing his next bite. He looked up at me with a wide smile as he held up something I think we still moving. “You just have to try this human. Come on I saved you a seat!”
Asmo sat at the other end of their table. He looked like a king holding court. “Oh, human I have much better things for your simple palate come…” he patted the seat next to him.
“Human?” Lucifer’s voice rang out strong and clear over all the others. He looked up at me a wide smile on his face. Diavolo sat across from him grinning just as widely. I could see that their feet were entangled with each other under the table. I smiled.
“Come sit here human. We have much to discuss with you and this…” Luci waved a piece of meat in the air.
“Pig roast?” Diavolo finished for him. A nod of that dark head, a secret smile just for the red haired man across from him, and Luci was looking back at me. With an invitation like that who could resist.
I strolled over to where the two ‘friends' sat. Lucifer pulled out the seat next to him. I sat my plate down, lowering myself into the comfortable chair.
“Do you like it?” I asked. He gave me a beautiful smile.
“Umm, I do.” He cooed. I grinned.
“And you Lord Di…” he cut me off with a wave of his hand.
“Unless we are meeting on official business you can simply call me Diavolo.” He informed me. I smiled at him.
“Thank you! How do you like the pig roast, Diavolo?” I asked.
“It is quite appealing.” He told me, a wink at Lucifer and I had to stifle a laugh.
“Where did you ever discover such a thing?” He asked. Golden eyes shinning as he looked at me. I smiled.
“Well, in the human world, the country that I’m from, we do this in the summer.” I explained.
“Simply divine!” he laughed. Lucifer was looking at him more hungrily than at the pork on his plate. I chuckled.
“So, just how long have the pair of you been together?” they looked at me startled. Diavolo opened his mouth but closed it quickly. I saw slight pink color coming into his cheeks.
Lucifer gave me a death glare. You could certainly use the term ‘If looks could kill' with him. I grinned innocently as I waved my fork to indicate the budding and demons around us.
“Doing all of this?” I added chuckling to myself. I watched as they both visibly relaxed. Yeah like they are hiding their relationship so well!! I smirked as they looked at each other swiftly looking away again when they saw the other looking.
“Oh, for awhile now.” Diavolo played it off coolly.
“What gave you the idea for this?” I probed.
“You do ask a lot of questions, human.” Lucifer glared back at me once more.
“Now, now, Luci…” Diavolo's hand patted the gloved fingers of Lucifer. “Humans are a curious sort. You know that's how we got involved with them in the first place.” They shared a secretive smirk. Lucifer sighed turning his glare to the fading sunlight.
“We needed a place to keep my brothers in line.” He told the open grass area. “They were wrecking havoc in the human world. It was causing quite a mess.” He turned his noble brow back to me. “Here they can be who they are. No concerns of injuries to humans or property damage. No pitch fork mafia's coming after them. They can live in peace.” He gave a shrug of his broad shoulder. “Just as long as they don’t make me upset.” His thin perfect lips curved ever so gradually upwards. I chuckled.
“Doesn't Mammon try to do that on a daily basis?” I asked. Diavolo laughed choking on his water he had just taken a sip of. Coughing he replaced the glass on the table. Lucifer jumped to his feet to assist him. Pounding his back until the lord of the Devildom could speak.
“You don’t know the half of it.” He taunted smirking at me. “The things I have to listen to at night…” he shook his head. I swear I saw a gleam of respect in his majestic eyes as he glanced over to the white haired demon who was attempting to coax a piece of meat from Beel so he wouldn’t have to go all the way over to the other pig. I snickered.
“He is my brother.” Lucifer had followed my gaze as he sank back to the seat beside me.
“And as your brother's keeper…” I began.
“…my work is never done.” He finished. His eyes glowing as he locked them to mine. I gave him a smile as I took a bite of my food.
“This was a lovely outing. Thank you, human.” Diavolo said. “I will send some worker demons to clean up. You have out done yourself with the cooking.” I grinned.
“Thank you that means a lot to me.” He smirked. Out of no where we suddenly hear a high pitched voice exclaiming something quite piercingly. I couldn’t make out the words as the tone and volume hurt my ears.
“What has upset the Chihuahua now?” Lucifer barked louder than the ear piercing voice.
“I am not a Chihuahua!” Luke cried. He tossed down his napkin and stormed inside.
The rest ended their meal shortly after. Beel happily finished his pig and what ever snacks were left over from the catering menu. I smiled as he looked satisfied with himself.
“Would you like the leftovers from the other pig? I could box them up for you for later?” I offered. His smile lite up the darkening night.
“You would! You're the greatest human ever!” he watched as I put all the leftovers in several containers for him. He managed to carry them all up to his room. I laughed watching him scurry away.
Asmo came to drag me inside for something I just had to see, right as the worker demons reappeared to clean up. As the doors were closing I saw Lucifer and Diavolo standing very close together watching the moon rise up.
