I walk along the dark dimly lit streets and arrive at the outside of my apartment. The date that Phil and I had had together had been absolutely incredible. Being around Phil, I had felt so happy and I felt like I could be myself. I can’t help but keep a smile on my face as I reach into my bag to pull out my keys and that’s when I realize.

Phil has my wallet. I couldn’t feel it in my bag.

Crap.

I take out my phone and check the time. 5:15. I decide to give Phil a call to see if I could come over to retrieve my lost item. I know it's late but what else can I do?

Quickly I dial his number and he picks up almost instantly.

“Hello?” He sounds almost saddened…. I wonder why.

“Hey Phil, Its Anna.” I say softly laughing before I continue. “I was wondering do you by chance still have my purse. I think I remember giving it to you to hold. And then I must have forgotten about it because now I don't have it.”

“One second” He says. I think I hear him moving around before he comes back onto the phone.  “Yeah I just had a look by the front door, I thought I had brought it back with me…. Anyway it’s here. Did you want to wait until tomorrow when you come over to play video games with me to get it back?”

I smile into the phone a little bit. “Well I could do that…. Or I could come over to your place and get it back from you now…”

I feel like he’s smiling a bit now. “That would work. I’ll see you soon then. Oh and I’ll text you my address.”

“See you soon.” I say smiling back into the phone before hanging up and waiting for a text message.

The walk to Phil’s apartment was actually quite short. Unfortunately the cold bitter air around me nipped at my naked hands. I had forgotten to put on gloves today and as the day went on the colder it had gotten and my hands were really starting to feel it.

But he only lived about fifteen minutes away from the apartment that I shared with my friend Mia. Which meant that I would be back into the warmth of a building soon and my hands would be relived.

When I had finally reached the first level of the apartment building I went through the doors and was immediately greeted by a mountain of stairs right in front of me.

Oh boy.

I was suddenly thankful that I was a runner otherwise this climb would have left me breathless. It wasn’t too long before I had reached the door to the apartment where Phil resided. Swiftly I knocked on the door and was instantly greeted by a smiling Phil.

“Hey!” I said.

“Hey Anna… It’s been quite a while.” He joked.

“Indeed it has.” I smile. “Mind if I come in?”

“Oh, right. Yes” He opens the door wider and stands to the side letting me pass through before closing the door behind me.

“Would you like something to drink?” Phil asks me.

“Oh. Yeah. That would be nice.” I smile at him. I’ll just have a glass of water.

Phil motions for me to go and have a seat on the coach while he prepares the drinks.

As I make my way over to the couch I can’t help but admire the apartment that surrounds me. It’s a colorful place full of everything geek from Mario to Pokémon, and it’s wonderful.

I go over to the couch and take a seat and just as I do that Phil comes into the living room with two glasses of water which he places on the coffee table in front of us before he sits down next to me.
