So, hello there. If you're here, it's probably because you've read Skate On, and you've loved it. So thank you in advance. And here's the small preview, I won't update for a few more days or weeks so let me know what you guys think on this so far:) Enjoy, guys!

“Lyn, ou est-ce que tu t’en va?” I re-call hearing my brother shout after me.

Back then, French is what we would always speak around the house, it wasn't anything out of the ordinary. Our mother encouraged us to learn both French and English, even my father, which didn't really turn out great.

"Lache moi, Samuel!" I shouted back, running even faster in the streets.

I was just a kid then, only 15 years old and I had all the pressure in the world on me, or at least it felt like it. I ran into the rain and began to run away from home, not exactly sure where I was going. I had just gotten the news of Matthew leaving home and I already needed to pack my stuff for London, it was crazy how everything was happening so fast.

Samuel grabbed my arm and stopped me so I was facing him. He spoke to me in French, ‘Where are you going?’

I stared at the ground, and let the rain pour over my head. “Je le sais pas.” I don’t know.

‘Roe, I don’t know what to tell you to make you feel better. This isn’t our fault, and we just have to live with it. I promise you, if he really cares about us, he’ll come back.’ He tried to assure me.

‘Why would he leave me?’ I looked into his face and shouted at the top of my lungs, angrily.

Sam was struck by my reaction, and he took a step back. He shook his head, ‘I don’t know. Maybe, it was too much pressure for him. I don't know, Rose!'

I looked up at my brother and I wasn’t sure anymore if it was the rain or my own tears falling down my face. Before I could say another word, Sam pulled me into his arms and squeezed me into his grip. I wrapped my arms around him and began to sob into his chest.

‘I swear, Rose, if he really loves us, he’ll be back.’

I woke up in a gasp, quickly sitting up in bed. I could feel my heart beat a mile a minute and I put my hand over it, in fear that it might pound out of my chest. I caught my breath and looked back at Kaner, still sound asleep, almost drooling against his pillow. It was almost un-attractive.

I smiled at my own little joke and got out of bed, seeing that it was almost 5am, and there was no way that I could fall back to sleep. I went towards the bathroom, getting myself ready.

In a matter of minutes, I was in jogging clothes and heading out the apartment. I made sure that I left a note for Kaner, telling him where I was heading and where I would be if he needed me. And that was none other than the gym, if it was open, of course.

I looked down at my phone once out of the appartment and checked if I had missed any calls. The last few days I hadn’t had that much time to do anything but play hockey. It was very early in the year, and in August it had finally happened.

I became the first ever girl to sign a contract with an NHL team. The Chicago Blackhawks, of course.

It was kind of exciting but very stressful being the first ever girl to sign with an NHL team. I was still a girl and we had discussed a deal of 2.5 million for a one year contract. I thought it was okay, considering they still needed to see me play on the real ice, against an actual team.
