It wasn't always like this. Julia used to be the sweetest girl ever, with too many friends to count.

But it was always harder for her, telling wrong from right. She'd learnt to copy the actions of her peers- to appear like she was normal. But they quickly caught on to her actions, and since she was never given a reason not to trust them, she placed her life in their hands. They told her 'how to act in public' and they laughed as she unknowingly flipped people off and stole.

They eventually grew tired of her, and she was alone again.

Julia flopped onto her bed, looking around her pale yellow room. It wasn't much. There was a window and a desk in the corner, a carpet in the center, and her bed was a light shade of grey. Julia sighed, turning her head.

She had a few mental illnesses under her roof. Autism, minor OCD, social anxiety, separation anxiety, PTSD, and she was 70% sure she had depression. But she'd never let anyone know that.

Having Asperger's Syndrome was annoying sometimes.

Sometimes she loved being different. Sometimes she just wished she was like everyone else.

Aspergers' had its' perks though. Julia could fit in easily & hide her emotions better. She was smart too, her brain able to pick up on patterns and formulas quicker. She was able to memorize easily, remember the oddest details and keep them stored in her head.

She was always reading too. She constantly wanted to learn everything she could about everything. So, obviously she was years ahead of her peers.

But besides those, there weren't many other plus sides to it.

Julia sighed into her pillow, thinking back to one of her first homes. They were trying to get her to put some shoes on, but she was stubborn. That night, along with most other nights, she screamed until she passed out.

Another family tried taking her to Seaworld. When they went to see the orca show, they sat in the splash zone. Big mistake, because when she was suddenly covered head to toe in water, she screamed, trying to rip her clothes off.

It didn't end well that day. They had to buy her a little sundress to wear and a towel to dry off. The next week she was sent off to another home. This time, the family was informed about what she'd been up too.

Unbelieving of her breakdowns, they forced her to walk across their backyard in the rain - freezing cold rain - and back. Then made her play with their youngest daughter in a puddle. She'd tried so hard to look happy, because she just wanted a home. But it failed. She had a panic attack and fainted in the puddle. She woke up with a fever that lasted for a few days, and then was promptly shipped off to another home.
