DISCLAIMER: I think I translated Kamikazu Yoru incorrectly at some point in the story. please tell me if I have/what it actually means XD

So, I started writing this a while ago. I had an idea for a character with dark, distinctive eyes and long blonde hair. I was on a plane and started drawing sketches of her, drawing sketches of her friends, drawing sketches of her enemies, and this idea kind of bloomed from it. I hope you enjoy the story, and here are the first 4 chapters:

Kamikazu Yoru: Chapter 1. The sleeping girl.

“KAMIKAZU!” Bellowed a deep voice. Resonating around the cave and invading Kamikazu Yoru’s bones. She raised her deep ebony eyes but kept her words stored.

“Luka has reached high ranking today.” said a tall, dark, looming figure.

“I am happy for you, sister.” Kamikazu spoke, as she bowed her head to Luka sitting on the other side of the room. Kamikazu meant for the words to sound convincing but they came out as sarcastically as they truly were. The tall man, Kamikazu’s father looked down his nose at the very small, thin teen vampire stood before him. He’d picked up on the sarcastic tone of her voice and he raised his hand in the air. He brought it down sharply on Kamikazu’s face. She staggered, blinked and looked up at her father.

“I would love to see you achieve high ranking.” He said, matching Kamikazu’s sarcastic purr. He stared down at his youngest daughter then walked away.

Kamikazu sat back down, leant back, and stretched, letting out a tired sigh. She opened her eyes again to see herself. Confusing. She thought. Then she realised it was her reflection in her older sister’s eyes.

“Hello Luka. I am very happy for you.” Kamikazu croaked, with a more convincing tone and tight-lipped smile.

“Yeah, thanks,” Luka sniffed. She was beautiful. Bright blue eyes, short blonde hair, peach lips. She was full of potential. Her perfection sickened Kamikazu.  Her happiness, her beauty, her life. She wanted it all. Kamikazu blinked. It made her smile. The thought of being anyone but herself made her happier. Then the thought escaped, spreading it’s wings and straight into Luka’s mind. Luka deserved happy thoughts.

Luka settled her shimmering eyes on her younger sister.

“Listen, I’ve heard Dad saying that if you don’t get off your butt and start preparing for high ranking, you’ll never reach it.”

“I don’t want to.” Kamikazu replied simply. Luka looked at her, like she’d been kicked in the stomach.

“B-but you have to.” Luka said, her voice quivering.

“Why?” Kamikazu knew Luka didn’t know the answer. It was just obviously something she had to do. All her siblings had reached high ranking, and now Luka had done it, she had to as well.

Luka shot her a glare, and Kamikazu smirked slightly, knowing she had won. Luka narrowed her eyes and walked off. Kamikazu was too smart for her own good sometimes. That little remark wouldn’t win her much.

Kamikazu decided to go for a walk. She made it known to her parents and left.  Her blonde ponytail blew in the bitter autumn wind. She wore no jacket, but she was perfectly fine. Because she was a vampire, she felt the cold less easily. She pondered in the concept of reaching ‘high ranking ‘her mind.

A week of mental and physical challenge. For what? You spend years training to go through it, and all for what?  Kamikazu knew what. She knew it was for pride. Pride. It made her laugh. Who needs it? I’m practically shunned anyway. Kamikazu saw a tree in the near horizon and sat by it. She closed her dark eyes. Why was I only born a half blood? All my siblings, full bloods. My parents, full bloods. It wasn’t something she thought about often, but now she had some time. It’s not like it matters. I don’t agree with vampire customs, so why would I want to be one? Kamikazu was a vampire by name and mind, but remained human in physical aspects. My mind. My mind is the only thing keeping me from being a human. It’s too strong. Too strong. I can’t be hurt by my thoughts. Kamikazu opened her eyes and thought. I’m not physically strong like the others, so how do they expect me to reach high ranking. Do they want me dead?
