Seyeon snapped her head up to see Renjun, who was wearing a less than pleased look.
"Jeno," he repeated, eyeing the younger boy dangerously. Jeno released what sounded like an animalistic growl before letting his hold on her leg fall.
He started to twiddle his thumbs, eyes downcast while he avoided the scrutinising eyes of both Renjun and Jisung.
Seyeon, who held Ten's advice close to her, decided that thanking Renjun wasn't the most urgent reason to speak.
Her lips formed a thin line, eyes examining the food that had been placed on her plate by Jaemin.
The medic rubbed reassuring circles into her back while passing her a fork.
"Thanks."
Renjun almost flinched at the girl's words. He let his face soften when he noticed her reluctance to join the meal.
"What is it?" He winced at how harsh his tone was. His ability to drop the leader persona had long since disappeared.
Seyeon nervously bit her lip. She wasn't scared of him, not by a long shot. But Jaemin had given her advice - some that probably shouldn't of been shared - and now she felt the need to keep her sarcastic comments down.
"Thank you for that, and for letting me join this meal," she mumbled, letting her eyes meet Renjun's.
Renjun glanced at Jisung who had a smirk playing on his lips.
"Enjoy....everyone."
And so the present members of the mafia shared a meal. Seyeon couldn't tell what this feeling was, but it sure as hell had to have been the best one since her arrival those two weeks ago.
Did anyone miss her? What were her parents doing?
They were questions that had previously plagued her mind, yet while sitting with these boys, she couldn't help but let them go.
"Is this everyone?" She quietly asked Jaemin. There were several conversations going on around her, so not one else really heard the question.
"No. In this particular base there are three more people. They're out on jobs right now," he explained before eating another piece of broccoli.
"This base?" Her eyebrows were knitted together, head tilted as she wondered what he meant.
There were more of them?
"Our gang is particularly big. This branch is led by Renjun, but there is another base with nine others."
Seyeon nodded, mind processing this new news.
"Why is Renjun leader? I mean he's really young....and short," she whispered, having been on the receiving end of the leader's mood.
"Well, he and Taeyong, who leads the other branch, have a long history. I guess it's a trust thing. But wouldn't underestimate Renjun. That boy can take care of himself for sure," Jaemin finished, noticing the questioning look that Renjun sent him.
He waved it off, pretending to fill Seyeon in on the history of each bit of food on her plate.
While Jaemin tried to explain this to Renjun, Seyeon found her eyes drifting to a certain interest of hers.
Park Jisung.
