Disclaimer I do not own Pokémon I only own my original characters. Also, I have changed my mind about Ash's role in the story. He will be a secondary character and my OC Ronald will be the main focus. Which is why you will not see Ash's battles for the league.
The two were back in Pallet town since they had nowhere else to go for now. Both of the trainers would go their separate ways after the first league was done.
Ash and his Pokémon were doing some last-minute training for the league which was four months away. Ronald meanwhile was trying to plan out what he was going to do during the league matches.
His two rivals meanwhile were also getting in some last-minute training. Ronald's Charizard was bored out of his mind as well as his other Pokémon.
Ash's Charizard flew over and landed next to his son. The older flame Pokémon wanted to help his child relieve his boredom, but he didn't know how to go about it. Ash himself was watching some of his own Pokémon train as he ran.
After a while, Professor Oak motioned for Ash to come inside. "Pikachu just watch over everyone OK" he instructed his starter. The electric mouse just nodded and turned back around as his teammates switched around. The months came and went. Soon it was time for Ronalds first-ever Pokémon league.
Leanna and Herold were getting ready for the league as well.
Fast forward to the start of the league
The Pokémon league had begun and Ronald was facing off against his first opponent. Which was against a trainer and her Lickilicki against his Lucario.
The steel/fighting type was whittling down the normal type. But this was a long and grueling Battle since the Pokémon kept using rest.
Finally he managed to knock the normal type out except it was a double knock out. His rival Herold was having a much easier time against his opponents Macargo. While Leanna was facing off against an opponents Rhyperior.
Soon Ronald was made to face Leanna and see how far he would go. First up was his Charizard versus her Ninetails. It was a fast-paced battle but in the end Ronald's Charizard lost.
One by one Ronald's Pokémon fell even when he had type advantage leading him to have to leave The league early.
Ash meanwhile was climbing up the ranks. For Ash the results weren't bad he did a lot better then his first time in the league. That night after the league was over "Ronald I'm sorry for being so harsh" he whispered to the sleeping younger trainer.
He didn't know that Ronalds Charizard was listening in along with Ronald's other Pokémon. "I just wanted you to be a better trainer than I was starting out" Ash finished. After he had said that Ash started to leave the room as Pikachu followed.
This bit of information made Ronald's Pokémon decide to trick him into training them up further. They simply wouldn't listen otherwise
Ronald was now 17 years old and a lot more mature than he was at 10. Yep, he had been through a lot over the past seven years his Pokémon had forced him to do a lot of training.
That started in the Johto region when it was the only way he could get them to listen to him. Now finally he would be able to retire his very first team.
Meanwhile, Ash did not know that he was almost ready to ready to retire his last group which consisted of greninja, goodra, Talonflame, Noivern, decidueye, Lycanroc, and Incineroar.
Learning this would be a big surprise to him because he thought that he would retire that group before another group.
That was before he retired them though maybe he just wasn't expecting them to work twice as hard as the Pokémon that got him into the finals for the first time. Then again a lot of people considered them his weakest Pokémon ever.
Then again maybe that was the reason they had worked themselves so hard over the years going from Ash's weakest to some of his most formidable.
Yep, that was something he wasn't expecting though. Then again life is full of surprises, isn't it? He had spent time training in Mount silver, Iron island, route 226, victory road, and any other area that could toughen them up.
Not only that his unorthodox strategies became even more and more unorthodox. This made seem even more unpredictable. Even the bonds between him and his Pokemon had grown stronger.
He took out his Pokedex and gasped in surprise he knew that they were high up in level but wow. Ash didn't know that they were nearing retirement until he checked them. "Wow I knew you guys were powerful but I didn't know that you were nearing retirement," he said.
Ash went into the line with the other trainers who were about to retire some of their Pokémon. He was surprised to see Ronald there this made him smile.
They stepped into the arena where one by one Ash's last team had their final matches before retirement. After the last one had reached at Ash dropped out in the middle of the league.
This left Ronald to go farther into the league until for the first time he became runner up. Ronald's first team of Pokémon we're finally ready to retire. "Thanks to them I can do better in raising my next set of Pokémon," Ronald said to himself. "I should also probably think Ash for helping me win my badges for my first league," he said to himself.
Only to discover that Ash was nowhere to be seen and had already gone home. Meanwhile, Ash was trying to decide what to do now that all of his Pokemon had reached their peak.
