"Eugene Trinidad, freshmen new recruit ng volleyball team." Pal said when I asked her about this girl who suddenly popped out from my messages.

"Why? Another admirer?" he asked. Marahan lamang akong tumango at pinasa sa kanya ang bolang dinidribble ko.

I'm used to having girls messaging me, but this girl got my attention for some reason that's why I asked Pal about it. He's pretty knowledgeable about these kind of things.

"How are you and Mercury? Someone saw the both of you arguing," huminga ako nang malalim. Remembering what she did.

Mercury's my girlfriend since second year college. We just celebrated our first anniversary last week, but I saw her with someone just a day after we celebrated it. Hindi ako tanga para isiping kaibigan niya lang 'yon. I know the difference. They were touchy shit like that and the guy seems to have glued her hands around my girlfriend. Mercury seems to enjoy every bit of it.

I was mad, not because of jealousy, but because I am getting fooled by her. I confronted her about it before our training and she kept on denying my accusation. Of course, no one would admit to their own mistake.

I should have just spoken to her the moment I saw her with that fucker. But I just decided to let it go.

"Just a small misunderstanding," I shrugged it off.

Pagkatapos ng training, Mercury was waiting for me. Smiling. Usually, I would smile back and hug her, but after what I saw I just nodded at her. I don't want to get fooled by her again.

"Should we grab dinner, baby?" she asked while tagging along by my side.

"I'll eat dinner at home," sabi ko kahit hindi naman. But this is a good reason to not eat with her. She's afraid of mom. She would not even bother visiting mom and spend some time with her.

"Enough with your cold treatment, please? You accusing me of cheating on you is not true! My god! Why would I even think of cheating on you?"

"Yeah, why would you even think of cheating on me? Ask that to yourself," I told her coldly and left. Pissed at her.

Wag lang niyang hayaang mahuli ko siya ulit. I won't even hesitate to leave her.

That night, I received a message from Eugene Trinidad.

I'm sorry for messaging you hehe, you have a girlfriend pala. Sorry po hehe

At least she knows how to distance herself from trouble, unlike my girlfriend. I didn't bother to reply, though after that she never messaged me again.

Few days passed and Mercury didn't seem to have any suspicious activity. She's always beside me after training. I tried to tail on her again, but I only saw her with her friends. I somehow regretted accusing her, but what I saw that day won't get off my mind kahit ilang beses siyang bumawi.

"Ilang araw training niyo sa Pampanga?" she asked while I was packing. Our team will train in my hometown for five days. The next season will start next month, so we have to train. Our coach suggested to have team building too, along with our training, so he decided to bring us there since he knows someone who can facilitate our team building.

"Five," I answered. I was not sure, but I saw glint of happiness in her eyes, but I shrugged it off.

"Okay. Ingat ka. Be careful sa training, okay?" she said. Tumango lamang ako sa sinabi niya at nagpatuloy page-empake ng gamit ko. Bukas nang madaling araw kami tutulak papuntang Pampanga.

Our training slash team building was cut off to four days because the facilitator of our team building had an emergency he needed to attend to as soon as possible, that is why coach decided to go back to Manila.
