Its been three days.

Shit, what if he is dead? Did I kill my dad? Oh shit.. what am I gonna do. I take another swig of tequila. I need to go back over there. I stumble outside to get into my car. I go to start it but I am out of gas. Shit. of course. I start walking. It is an hour walk, I better bring my tequila.

When I finally arrive I stand in the driveway. I take a few more swigs of tequila and throw the bottle into the bush. I walk inside and slowly walk to the kitchen where it happened. My eyes are closed. I open to see it.. nothing? where the hell did he go?

"Samantha!" I hear. It was him.

I turn around and he pulls me into a hug.

"Oh thank god you're alright! Someone broke in and hit me over the head with a lamp, I thought you were kidnapped!" he hugs me again.

The thing that shocked me most wasn't that he didn't remember, it was that he was sober. Rare. I, on the other hand, was wasted.

"Yup dad, glad we are alive. lucky we are." I try not to slur.

I walk upstairs and collapse onto my bed. I wake up with a headache and feel like shit. What on earth is that smell? OH GOD its ME! I reek, I need a shower. Once I get into the shower I process everything that has happened. Holy shit. Hey! its friday night, not like I have anyone to make plans with.

The weekend went pretty fast, it mostly consisted of sleeping and I had to sneak out at 1 AM to walk to the barn and slowly sneak all my stuff back to my house, and get my car.

I was woken to the sound of my alarm. 6:00 AM. Great. I take a shower and get dressed. I get ready to go downstairs and grab a granola bar then check on dad, but I am surprised. I see dad. Cooking? he must be drunk. I didn't realize I was watching for so long until the stair creaked and he looked back.

"Morning Sammie! Sleep well?" he asked.

He wasn't drunk. I was so confused.

"Uh, yeah dad. Are you feeling.. okay?" I ask.

"Yeah, why wouldn't I be?" he asked confused.

"Never mind.. " I say.

And for the first time in years, I sat down and ate a meal with my dad.
