Just a Normal Morning

It was a normal Friday morning. Well, as a Friday morning with the abusive Haliken family could be. Alpha woke up at about 3:00 am and went through her usual Friday morning routine of first getting ready for day, putting on her special silver locket, and packing her backpack with her school supplies, Next she left her basement and fully cleaned the "public rooms of the house" which was basically everything on the first and second story except the bedrooms in the second story. When she finishes, she goes and wakes up Cole, who also gets ready and wakes up the rest of his siblings, except his three year old brother, Joseph. Meanwhile, Alpha prepares the other 4 their preferred morning wake up drinks; a cream and caramel latè for Alan, the oldest. A smooth, cream, sugar, and cinnamon latè for Linda, the older twin. Hot chocolate with cream, marshmallows and peppermint for Lidia, the younger twin. Camille, herbal, tea for Sarah, the youngest sister. And finally, a mug of simple apple cider for Cole. Joseph usually has some milk or orange juice when he wakes up.

As each kid came down for their breakfast, Alpha played waitress and cook by giving them their morning drinks, then taking there breakfast orders. Like usual, Alan made a joke about wanting her before ordering a waffle, egg and two sausages, the twins tried to challenge her with rolled crepes with jam, pancakes with bacon, two over-easy eggs for Linda, and scrambled eggs for Lidia. To be nice, Sarah requested her usual, 4 biscuits with a cup of thick gravy on the side. Cole asked for one of his usual orders, a bowl of cinnamon, sugar, and apple-chunk oatmeal, he even made a show of wanting to make sure Alpha would,"do it right this time" when he actually just wanted to do it himself, and help Alpha in the kitchen. Luckily, the wall and door to the kitchen kept everyone else from seeing this, except Sarah, but she didn't point it out because she knew how much Cole cared about Alpha, and she knew he'd hate to see her get pummeled for, "using her witch-like magic on him" again.

Alpha would make each meal in order fro the oldest siblings' yo the last, and Cole would wait for her to bring out Alan's before he entered the kitchen to secretly help her make his oldest sisters' plates, then he'd get started on his own, and allow Alpha to make up Sarah meal before coming back and cleaning up, then Cole would leave and wait at the table while alpha added some finishing touches to his breakfast and brought it out too him. Once that was done, Alpha left and brought out their custom cups, apple juice, orange juice, and milk, so they could make their breakfast drink while she woke up Joseph. Normally, Alpha Alpha wouldn't wake up Joseph until 7:00 am, but Alpha knew he would be upset if he didn't get to hug her goodbye before she left for to stay the weekend in their local Ebott City Orphanage. Where Alpha's half adoptive mom, Mrs. Psygell lived, and was the main caretaker.

Alpha smiled at the thought of returning to the orphanage, people there had always been so kind to her. She opened the door to Cole's and Joseph's room. When she looked towards Joseph's bed, she couldn't help but laugh. Somehow, Joseph had moved from sleeping on the bed to hanging in a cocoon of quilt off the side of the bed, with only his head peaking out.
At that moment Alpha sincerely wished she had her cell phone, this was too cute, and deserved a picture. Unfortunately, the Haliken family would not allow her to have one in this house, so Alpha usually kept it at her orphanage. Alpha sighed and smiled before moving to wake up the cute little butterfly boy. First she put him on the bed, then she lightly tapped his nose while calling his name. Like any other day, he was reluctant to get out of bed at first, but when Alpha mentioned that it was Friday, he was wide awake. He knew that Friday was the day his, "Sister Mom" left early to go to some far away place called, "the orphanage" and didn't come back until Monday morning. Alpha smiled as he practically jumped from his bed to his dresser across the room. Before she could even stand up he was already choosing out a fun little outfit to match Alpha as closely as possible. So he put on some black shorts and a blue t-shirt. Similarly, Alpha wore her school uniform, a long black skirt that reached about three inched below her knee, a deep navy blue Polo, with the Ebott City High School name and wolf logo, black socks, and black faux leather Mary Jane shoes.

Joseph proudly looked between himself and Alpha before nodding in approval and marching out of the room to go do his own morning routine. Which was basically just brushing his teeth and finding a comb for Alpha to use on his messy, and incredibly cow-licked auburn and strawberry blond splotchy hair. A process which, according to him was, "the hardest thing ever! Why do Lidy and Lida hog the combs? They have billions of brushas!"

While he is doing that, Alpha takes out her makeshift messy bun she usually wears in the morning and braids her long, raven black hair into three tight dutch braids. Then she moves on to braid her snow icy white bangs into a warrior braid on the right side of her face. This braid is part of Alpha's personal reassurance that she was not as helpless as she typically portrayed herself to be. She also just did it because Cole thought it made look like a, "real Alpha," and she took that as encouragement to flaunt her secret internal power, and impressive self control and strength, in her own humble way.

Eventually Joseph come back in with a small black comb and a cup of water, and Alpha did his hair into his favorite, hairstyle, a spiky fohawk. After that she asked him what he wanted for breakfast and went back downstairs to prepare his "Breakfast special" which was little boy speech for, "All the leftovers, and a bowl of sugary cereal." Alpha would've stayed to make his bed for him, but he insisted that alpha was not allowed to make his bed because, "he could do it himself, just like Cool!" Once alpha was done compiling his breakfast onto a small plate and bowl, she gently placed it on the table, and called out for her, "Young Master." Which didn't surprise the older children, as their baby brother seemed to enjoy acting like a young earl, when alpha was around, and alpha always played the role of a female butler. For all their cruelty toward Alpha, they still managed to care for him. This was one of the reasons alpha still usually acted harmless. The more pathetic you seem, the less cautious people are around you, and the better you can observe their natural personality and mannerisms.

Joseph came prancing down the stairs and Alpha happily scooped him up in one arm and sat him gently at the table. She introduced him to the dish and offered him his utensils, like any truly loyal girl butler would do, because she wouldn't let herself be a worse actress than a then a literal toddler, She took her Theater and Drama class for a reason. Also, Little J really like it when she faked a British accent, he thought she sounded funny and demanded she use it whenever addressing him at home in front of his siblings. Truth be told though, it was mighty hard to yell across the house with that kind of accent, for Alpha at least.

Once Joseph had finished his meal, Alpha cleared the table, cleaned up the dining-room, put the dishes in the dishwasher and started it. Then she she went back through the living room down to the basement and grabbed her backpack for school. By the time Alpha was back on the main floor and in the front entryway, Cole was Already waiting to walk her to the orphanage, Joseph was waiting for "his weekend Hug," and Sarah was waiting by the door. Alpha pulled Joseph into a tight hug and gave him a "sister mom farewell kiss" before she walked out the front door, which Cole had purposely held open. Once they were on the sidewalk, Alpha turned and waved to Joseph, who was holding Sarah's hand and leaning off the porch to wave back. Once He was out of sight, Alpha and Cole continued with their peacefully quiet walk to Alphas real home.

This Friday morning had been a perfectly normal Friday morning in the Haliken household; their parents both got home from work and a date at around 12:00 am, alpha woke up at 3:00, Had the kids awake by 6:00, and was out the door at almost exactly 6:40, to walk to the orphanage, where she and Cole would meet up with her friends, or, as Cole like to call them, "Alpha's Pack."

This morning was truly, perfectly normal, perfectly normal indeed.

And that was the introduction to our main character, Alpha Louise Moon.
Sincerely,
