Kirishima

Kirishima was excited. Like, super excited. It was the first day of high school! New environment, new people, more chances to find his soulmate. He'd worn a shirt with sleeves that went all to way until his elbows, so his SIM wouldn't be seen. He wanted to feel the connection instead of see the connection, y'know? For the experience.

He'd seen this boy that really stood out. Bakugou Katsuki. His hair was all poofy but it looked really soft, especially compared to Kirishima's. He also had this resting angry face that reminded Kirishima of those cute grumpy cats he saw on the Internet. Other than that, he also acted like a grumpy cat.

Kirishima remembered him from the Entrance Exam. He really stood out then, too. Kirishima thought Bakugou was gonna be scary and big and a bully, but when he met him in class, all of that just shrunk into two words: grumpy cat.

He didn't even like grumpy cats. Well, he didn't use to like them, but now he might be changing his look on them.

Bakugou had a bag with a lot of All Might pins, and he wore Hawks merch. It was safe to assume the guy was super enthusiastic about cool heroes. Kirishima had then decided to make friends with the guy, which was when he realised the person who sat behind him was actually his childhood friend.

Kirishima had thought that Bakugou might've been his soulmate—he felt the connection and everything—but he really couldn't think of any other reason why a introverted guy like Bakugou would be hanging out with someone like Midoriya for so long. Midoriya and Bakugou were definitely soulmates. Maybe they didn't want to establish it yet. Besides, when Kirishima asked Bakugou about his SIM, Bakugou nearly seemed annoyed.

Midoriya and Bakugou even had nicknames for each other! Well, granted, 'Deku' was an insult, but it was still a nickname that Midoriya approved of. And 'Kacchan'? That was definitely related to some intimate stuff.

Luckily, because of their names, Bakugou's room and Kirishima's room were opposite each other in the dorms. Kirishima wasn't paying attention, so he didn't know if it was because 'B' and 'E' were three alphabets apart or because 'Katsuki' and 'Kirishima' both started with 'K'. Either way, Kirishima was happy with this development.

After school, Kirishima walked up to Bakugou's room, breathing in deeply to muster his courage before knocking on the door.

"What?" a muffled shout came from inside the room.

Kirishima looked down at his feet, not knowing what he should be looking at. "It's Kirishima."

He heard a loud exasperated sigh. "I asked what, not who."

Kirishima made a mental note that Bakugou was super particular and specific. "I was wondering if you wanted to hang out today."

He heard some shuffling, then the door opening. Bakugou was wearing the jacket over a black tank top with a sort of skull on it, with that permanent scowl on his face. "Oh, it's you. Shitty Hair. For what?"

"For... fun?" Kirishima tried, looking at Bakugou to check if it was the right answer. Bakugou's expression went from annoyed to confused, then back to annoyed. Kirishma cleared his throat. "For research purposes?"

Bakugou moved to close the door, but Kirishima put his hardened hand in the gap before he could close the door. "For hero merch! Yeah, for hero merch."

The blond narrowed his eyes, then slowly opened the door. "I'm listening."

"We can just walk around town, eating from random stores and stopping at random shops we're interested in," Kirishima said. Yes! I'm a complete legend. It only took three tries before I got the right answer!

"Who else is going?" Bakugou asked, in a tone that Kirishima couldn't decipher as I want more people to come or I don't want to be with a lot of people.

Kirishima shrugged. "Do you want other people to go?"

"Did you just ask me before planning anything?" Bakugou asked, putting his hands in the pockets of his jacket.

"Maybe..." Kirishima said, smiling sheepishly. "So—"

"I heard that some people were going out already?" someone gushed, walking towards them. Kirishima recognised her—Mina, the alien-looking girl.

"Wanna join?" Kirishima blurted before realising that Bakugou hadn't answered yet.

"Yeah! Blasty's gotta go out some time. I bet he's like a cat that hates sunlight."

"Shut up! I'm gonna explode your ass, Pinky!" Bakugou yelled. In reply, Mina patted Bakugou's arm, saying "shh, it's okay.", as if petting a cat.

Kirishima rose a brow. "You guys are on nickname-basis?"

"Actually, I just saw him during lunch with the explosions and I shouted 'Blasty!' and he just looked at me. So technically he already responds to 'Blasty'—"

"I'm not fucking Blasty!"

"—and for some reason he started to call me Pinky."

Kirishima looked at Bakugou for an explanation, to which Bakugou gestured vaguely at Mina with frantic arm waving. "It—she—pink!"

"Okay, makes sense," Kirishima nodded, seeing Bakugou shrink in embarrassment because he couldn't phrase his words properly.

Mina laughed, then looked at Kirishima. "Is it okay if Sero and Kaminari came too?"

Kirishima shrugged, so Mina called them both.

Bakugou tilted his head, then realised who Sero and Kaminari was. "Oh, Soy Sauce Face and Discount Pikachu."

Kirishima choked out a laugh, then looked at them. "So we're all going?"

"We should probably get back before Aizawa or Iida notices, though. I think we're not allowed to leave the dorms," Sero said.

Kirishima looked around, looking for the rules. "Are you sure?"

"It doesn't matter! Let's go, I'm sure Blasty would love to buy some..." Mina looked Bakugou up and down. "...Hawks merch."

Bakugou rolled his eyes. "I like All Might more than Hawks."

"Do I look like I know what I'm talking about?"

"Ugh, whatever, let's go already," Bakugou said, closing the door of his room and locking it.

Kirishima rose his eyebrows. "You don't need to change?"

"What, is there something wrong with my clothes?" Bakugou asked.

"No," Kirishima said genuinely.

"Okay, then let's go," Bakugou insisted, walking down the hall to the exit.
