"Geez, the Colonel is such a pain..." A boy with golden hair pulled back into a braid grumbled as he plopped down in a chair. He wore a crimson coat and black clothing. After angrily adjusting his white gloves he asked, "Why are we at the hospital again?"

"Because a girl was attacked by a group of bandits, calling themselves the 'White Bulls', and she was brought here. She apparently saved another girl from them. The two are the only surviving victims." Replied a tall suit of armor. Its voice was that of a young boy and had a small echo to it. The armor pointed towards a room next to where the boy was sitting. "She's in there. The nurse we spoke with said she needed to rest, so we'd have to wait awhile before we can question her."

"This is so stupid, what does this group of thugs and girl have to do with our search anyway?" The boy asked.

The armor shrugged his shoulders, "They said she was an alchemist, brother."

With a sigh the boy stood up and peeked into the room. He glanced at the small clipboard that hung over the door that held doctors notes to it. "Lindsey, hm... What?!" The boy screamed and the armor shook.

"What's wrong?!"

"This girl is nineteen! She looks our age, though!" The armor looked at the clipboard and then at the girl who laid in the hospital bed.

"Guess you're not the only short one around..." The armor teased and that sent the boy in a rampage. His face turned red and he flailed around.

"WHO ARE YOU CALLING SO SHORT THAT I CAN'T REACH THE TOP BOOK SHELF?!"

"I didn't, Ed, you did."

"Shut it, Al!"

"Boys, you need to quiet down!" A plump, round nurse whisper-yelled at the brothers. They sheepishly apologized, not noticing that the girl began to stir.

My eyelids felt heavy, so I left them closed as I listened to the voices around me. It sounded like a boy... wait, two boys, were talking about me. Something about a colonel and the goons I fought with. I guess word gets around, huh? Uh oh, sounds like the nurse is yelling at them now. I guess it's about time I get up...

Slowly I sat up in the bed, shifting my weight more on my right arm, and struggled to open my eyes. I blinked a few times to clear my vision, seeing movement near the doorway.

"Brother, look, she's awake." Said a quiet voice. I focused on it and found that it belonged to a giant suit of armor. It stood tall, made of shiny metal. It was pointing at me as it looked down at the person next to them. He was small compared to the armor, and he had blonde hair that looked like gold, along with his eyes. He had a red cloak on along with a black shirt and pants. With a white gloved hand he pushed the door open all the way and stepped inside.

"My name is Edward Elric, and this is my brother Alphonse. We're here to ask you a few questions about the events that took place yesterday."

"W-wait, Edward Elric? As in the Fullmetal Alchemist?!" I asked in excitement. I've heard stories about him! The youngest State Alchemist ever and how he traveled with his younger brother, who I assume is the suit of armor. This was so cool, I can't believe I actually get to meet a State Alchemist--

"Who said you could question her now? She needs to rest."

Eric pushed his way through the brothers and stood protectively next to me. I was going to explain to him who they were but Edward spoke up.

"We're just following orders. If we need to come back later we can."

"How about you leave and not come back? That sounds like a better plan." Eric spat.
