The next few weeks fly by, with lots of make-up school work, and going to the gym with the rest of the cast, but soon it's the last day of my Sophmore Year. Maddy had decided to drive me to school and so I had to cancel my ride with Hannah, who didn't mind.
"Are you excited? The revealing of the cast is tonight!" She exclaims, which was another part I didn't mention. Gary had booked an opening at the biggest Mall in our area to reveal the cast, and I was quite nervous. My friends had found out about the reveal, and that was all they could talk about non-stop for the past week, along with who they thought would be good actors for the roles.
I wanted to tell them desperately, but I refrained myself, knowing Gary wouldn't be happy if I had said anything.
"Yeah. A bit nervous though. Hannah and all our other friends are going to be there, and they don't know I'm one of the actors." I say, messing with the lanyard that I always had on me. "Plus, they all want to meet up beforehand to get smoothies, but I had to tell them I'd be late, and they wouldn't stop asking where I was going to be."
"Hm. You'll be fine. I'm sure they'll be thrilled that one of their Best Friends is in the movie!"
I nod, looking out the window. Then, Maddy goes to the subject that I had boxed up in my mind that was labeled, 'Deal with Later'.
"So. Why is Xander's Hoodie in your closet?"
"Umm, when we hung out with the cast, we decided to go on a late-night walk and I didn't bring a coat, so Xander let me borrow his old Sweatshirt."
"But why do you still have it then?" She asks, pulling onto the street that connects to the school.
"He said that it looked better on me than it did him when I tried to give it back, and he told me to keep it," I explain, hoping school would come a bit faster so I could avoid the topic, as I knew the girls were going to coax it out of me eventually.
"And?"
"And, Goodbye!" I say, jumping out of the car as she pulls to a stop in front of the school.
"ISABELLE! Come back here!" Maddy yells out of the car door, and I reluctantly walk back over. "You're such a stinker. What else happened, because I'm not letting you go until you tell me."
I sigh, and finally, say what I had been trying to avoid for the past 3 weeks. "He called me cute as I was saying goodbye," I reply, blushing furiously.
"AWW! You guys are so cute!" She says, grinning at me.
"Yeah, well that's what Jen, Leven, and Jackie said. But the thing is One, he's a friend, and Two, he's 4 years older than me."
"Oh. It's fine though. I know plenty of people who date, and their 4 years apart." She says, and I look at her seriously.
"I know, but it just seems weird to me as I'm only 15." I sigh, checking the time on the car's dashboard. "Anyways, I gotta go. School starts in 10 minutes."
"Bye Izzy! Have fun!" She says, driving off as I walk into school.
. . .
I wave goodbye to my friends as my Mom pulls up to take me to the mall, and I promise I'll see them later.
"How was school?"
"It was good. I'm just glad it's officially summer." I say, a small smile on my face as I lean back with the window open for a light breeze.
20 minutes later we pull up at the huge mall, and my Mom tells me to go to the nearest Employees Only door, which was where the cast was getting ready. I walk in and quickly pull open the Black door to find a huge open area which was divided into sections for changing rooms and Make-Up stations.
