Chapter 2

Mithra's POV

I just finished my shift and it's 8 in the night. I go into the dean's office to sign out.

"Bye Mam." I say to Dean Iyer. She bids me goodbye, and I leave. I walk into the covered staff parking in the ground floor to see if my friend had come. I wait for five minutes, when I get a text from my best friend, Arshika.

Arshu: Hey Mithu. Ik ur shift's over, but i cant come sorry yaar. I have to travel to Pakistan urgently.

Me: Oh, ok. Everything alright?

Arshu: Yea, grandfather fell sick. Little worried abt him. Srry.

Me: Oh ok. take care then. its fine dw. I will catch the bus. How long will u be gone?

Arshu: Idk.

Me: ok. take care tho. Everything will be fine dw.

Arshu: Hopefully. thx

As I am about to put my phone away and walk to the bus stop, I get a call. Looking at the caller id, I see that it was dean Iyer, and lift the call.

"Hello mam." I say.

"Hi Mithra. I need you to take over Arshika's shift. She has to go somewhere. Family emergency apparently." she says.

"Yea mam. I will."

"Ok. thank you so much. Her shift ends at 1, but you can leave at 10. At 10, Shravya will take over."

"Ok madam. I will come sign in now." I say.

"Ok. Good. I am out of office right now, just left but I will be back after some time. Thank you so much Mithra." She says and she cuts the call.

Great! I have to work for two more hours. I walk back upstairs and sign in.

Vijay's POV

Its been two days, and I am going crazy.

"Here Vijay." Shaurya says as he hands me a glass with raw beer. The second the cup lands in my hand, I down the contents.

"Mama. That's raw!" Karthik exclaims.

When I don't reply, Shaurya puts another glass with a little bit of raw beer and turns for the soda. Again, I gulp the raw down.

"Man, what is going on with you?" Yash asks. They all stare at me.

"Who is it?" Shaurya asks. He knows me best.

"Doctor." I say dreamily.

"Bro, trust me. She is not going to fall for you, leave it." Gautham replies.

I pout. "But I want her bro. She opened my heart's doors. I need to meet her again."

"Dude, she's a doctor, and we are RAW." He says.

"So?"

"Eh, let the man try. No problem in that right." Yash says.

I look at him and smile. "Thanks bro." I say.

"But how will you meet her?" Gautam asks after a while.

"Yea i dont know mama." I say.

"Easy, just make Gautam's hand wet or something, and then we can go to the hospital." Shaurya suggests.

"Yea, good idea." I say. Without warning, I take the open water bottle next to me, and throw water onto Gautam, who shrieks like a kid.

"Whoops. Guess we have to go to the hospital." I say innocently.
