Summer songs playing in my Ipad
Triggering memories in my head
About our eternal summertime running downtown
When everything was fine, and nothing brought us down.
The city was so small, but our laughs echoed so loud
It made the town bigger. And bigger became our dream:
We would leave that place. We survived in the sound
Of music blasting every Saturday, we were our own team.
Summer songs always remember me of believing in my eternal youth
When partying lasted forever and I never needed rest,
Maybe it was the vodka making me think a drink would make me soothe
Maybe it was the love I felt for everyone except myself,
But I swear I was happy, in those moments, I swear.
The buzz took away the sadness and I had no care.
