Louis awoke the next morning to the smell of bacon and pancakes wafting into his room. His brow furrowed in confusion. No one ever cooks in the house unless it's a special occasion. That's when Louis remembered that today a match against Holmes Chapel Chargers. The ultimate rival team; Harry's team. Louis smiled to himself when he thought of the green eyed boy and their date that was planned for later that evening. Their little league football practice was rescheduled to right after school instead of later on, because of the match. After the match, Harry would talk Louis to a small restaurant in London and Louis couldn't be more excited.
He stood up out of bed and grabbed a pair of grey joggers from the floor beside his bed. He held them out at arms length and shrugged when he saw no scuffs or stains; they looked clean enough. Louis then went to his closet and pulled a light blue shirt off the hanger as well as a navy coloured jumper. Upon hearing his stomch growl with hunger, Louis quickly styled his hair into a quiff and then ran out the door of his bedroom. He knocked on each of his siblings doors to wake them up as well but walked right into Lottie and the babies room. He smiled when he saw Lottie already awake, putting Doris into a change of clothes while Ernest sat in his crib already dressed. Louis walked over the his brother and plucked him up from the crib, into his arms.
'Look at you handsome man. Already dressed.' Louis grinned at Ernest who was currently sucking on a closed fist. Louis then walked over to Lottie and Doris to quickly kiss each of their cheeks. 'Thanks Lots, you're a life saver. Breakfast is made this morning.' He informed her, while making googly eyes at Ernest.
'What's the occasion?" Lottie asked as she put tiny yellow socks on Doris's feet.
'Match against the Chargers tonight.' Louis said and then left the room, still holding Ernest. He met Phoebe and Daisy at the top of the stairs and smiled at both of them. 'First one down the stairs gets all the bacon.' Louis joked and then laughed as the twins went running down. Seeing them so energetic made him so happy and he just knew that nothing would be able to ruin his good mood that day. Not even his parents. Louis lightly tapped Ernest's nose as he babbled away to himself before going down the stairs to face his parents. Jay was at the stove fixing up some more pancakes while Dan was sitting at the head of the table with a coffee and the newspaper. The twins were both sat at the table already eating, with grins upon their faces. Dan looked up from the paper at Louis' arrival and nodded as a greeting. Louis just turned away and put Ernest in his high chair. As he sat down at the table and grabbed a few pieces of bacon and pancake, Dan spoke up.
'Big game tonight boy.' Dan said and then took a sip from his coffee. 'Try not to mess this one up like you did last time you hear?' His tone was sharp but Louis was too happy to notice. Instead he just nodded and quickly ate all his food so that he could have time to feed Ernest before going to school. It only took him a few minutes to feed the baby and when he had finished, he grabbed some dishes from the table and brought them to the sink. When he turned back around to get Ernest out of the high chair, he saw that Dan was already unbuckling the baby and lifting him into his arms. The once calm baby now let out a shriek and began to wail. Louis looked over at the twins and saw their faces pale and eyes widen as Louis fled to Dan's side. Ernest continued to scream as Dan held him. Louis reached for him but Dan only turned away which just made Ernest cry louder.
'Give him to me.' Louis commanded and reached for him again. Dan shook his head and turned away. The non stop crying caused Fizzy to run down the stairs to see what was wrong. She looked over at Louis who had his fists clenched and his face was starting to turn red. 'I said give him to me!' Louis said, this time raising his voice a bit. Dan just laughed and walked away with Ernest.
