"I don't believe you!" Ryder yelled at me. He was all up in my face and looked very pissed off. "Why do you have to always lie to me?" He yelled louder.

"Baby calm down. I haven't lied, I promise" I said calmly. I was scared shitless. He was never this mad at me, but lately it seemed like he was a whole different person, and I didn't like this version of Ryder.

"Then how come I saw you with them?" He asked in a dangerously low voice. "YOU DOIN' EM' TOO?!" He grabbed both of my arms and slammed me against the wall. He kept pushing me even further against the wall, hurting me in the process.

"They are my friends" I told him desperately. He was getting angrier no matter what I said. "You're hurting me, let go" I said. His eyes widened and his face crunched up in anger. The vein on his forehead seemed like it was about to pop, indicating he was furious. "I won't be able to do what you want if you keep hurting me" I added.

"Don't fucking tell me what to do!" he slapped me across the face, making me stumble back and hang onto the wall. The side of my face burned, but I was just too stunned to do anything about it.

"Skye, wake up!" I was brought back to reality my Mateo's worried voice. I had fallen asleep while waiting for Mason to get out of his last period of the day. I looked around, panicked for a second. I thought it was all real, but i was still at school. Mateo and I had off-campus together, but since Mason was the one with the car keys we just waited out by the field.

"Don't scare me like that" I told him. I rubbed my eyes and took a few calming breathes.

"Sorry" he said quietly. He placed his hand on my shoulder and looked at me closely. "You were whining, I thought you were hurt or something" he added.

"I'm fine" I sighed. He didn't seem to know what was going on, and I didn't want him to know either. I looked around and saw there was no one with us. "Just a bad dream" I muttered under my breath.

"You're having nightmares again" He didn't need to ask, he knew. He saw me like this before, I was spiraling all over again. I couldn't look at him in the eyes and lie, so I stayed quiet. "Skye he's not here" Mateo wrapped his arms around me, pulling me into a hug. I gulped, knowing that sooner or later he would be back for revenge.

"Yeah, I know" I whispered.

"You're going to be okay, we got you" he assured me. I nodded and got up, grabbing my stuff and yawning. Mateo followed me, and we walked towards the front of the school again.

"What time is it?" I asked when we were at the double doors. Mateo opened the door and gestured for me to go in, doing a small bow and winking.

"It's funny to see how you jump from guy to guy without a care in the world." Mateo and I turned to our left and saw Tiffani with arms crossed, glaring at me. I rolled my eyes and continued walking towards my locker, I've heard that line one too many times. She got in front of me, blocking my way and putting her hand on her hips intimidatingly.

"Why hello Tiffani" Mateo said from beside me. He crossed his arms and raised an eyebrow "I see you look as skanky as ever" I smiled, trying not to laugh by looking down. Tiffani's glare intensified, making her scoff at his comment. They had a stare down and then she looked at me and smiled.
