005 - trick or treat freak

Y/N's POV:

I have practically gotten no sleep in the past two days and I have no idea what day it is. Well, that's a lie, based on my Stranger Things knowledge it should be Halloween. 

They have been running nonstop tests on me since Will left, but I lowkey think they are experimenting on me. They have drawn my blood, taken my temperature, checked my heart rate, and countless other things along with injecting me with a bunch of needles.

Some parts of the day feel like they go by super fast and others super slow. Yesterday morning I felt like I was hit by a bus, and now I feel perfectly fine, I ditched the oxygen this morning despite what the doctors said as I could breathe normally. Dr.Owen left shortly after a few tests yesterday, but they kept going behind his back.

I don't know what they're doing but some of it hurts quite a bit, but the whole thing is somewhat a blur, one of the most prominent things I remember is the lights flickered quite often while they 'experimented' on me, but none of the doctors noticed it.

I just overheard doctors saying that Dr.Owens is coming back in an hour or so and that he wants to see me. I just want to know when I can leave this awful place.

Dr.Owens said that they won't let me leave, they cannot find my family and therefore he says I have to stay. Only he doesn't know what they have been doing to me or the fact that my family is about 40 years in the future. That's it I am going to escape this place ASAP.

"Earth to Y/N?"

"Yeah sorry?"

"As I was saying. Maybe in a few weeks, we could put you into foster care and could enroll you in the local middle school. How does that sound?"

"Uhm good I guess." 

I've gotta get out sooner or I'm gonna be eaten by one of the Demodogs. 

I was about to speak up again when the phone on his desk rang.

"Hello... Already?... Yeah, I'll be down in a moment." he hung up and looked at me. "Sorry kiddo, duty calls. I'll see you tomorrow? Actually, I'd like to talk a bit after I won't be long can you stand and wait outside my office?"

"Yeah, I guess so." This is my chance!!

I went and sat down in one of the chairs outside his office. I know they have cameras and will probably catch me but it's fine, as long as I make it out.

Okay, I should have made a plan.

I started casually walking down the hallway just following my intuition, I am now on a different floor and have not seen anyone yet. I spoke too soon.

"Who are you and what do you think you are doing?" a scary looking man yelled.

"Um. I'm Y/N, and I-"

"You're the girl from the Upsidedown?"

"Yeah about that--" I replied but before I said anything else I took off running.

I think I am on the second floor up right now. I zipped around different halls and just entered the last stairwell. I ran down two steps at a time and I think I honestly lost him

Everything is going smoothly again.

I could now see the exit doors, but as I walked towards them sirens began to go off.

SHIT. They know I'm trying to escape.

I started running and made it out the doors before I was surrounded by army looking men all pointing their guns at me. I stopped and put my hands up. I don't know what to do. I was so anxious that I could not hear a thing. The men started getting closer.

"GET AWAY FROM ME."

"It's gonna be okay Y/N, we just want to help you." the man closest to me said, he reached a handout and I saw the other reach for his gun.

"I SAID GET AWAY!" I screamed and closed my eyes. Upon opening them I saw all the men on the ground with their guns further away from them, the man closest to me sat up and looked at me in terror. Before they could all get up I began to run with all I could away from them. I made it out of the lab and away so fast I couldn't tell where I was going.

What the frick was El doing helping me back there?

It was now dark out and I was beyond tired, I had just walked through the forest and I think that I am near the main area of houses now. I crawled out near the street and I could feel how heavy my eyelids were. I was about to cross when I ran into two trick or treaters. I could barely see or acknowledge anything at this point, I felt my eyes roll back and everything went black.

Mike's POV:

I can't believe they invited her without asking me first. Now Halloween is ruined and I've gotta deal with Will. He's my best friend so it's not exactly like I mind. Anyways. He just finished telling me all about his episodes, and I talked about El.

"Hey, well, if we're both going crazy, then we'll go crazy together right?"

"Yeah. Crazy Together." Will chuckled, we both then just continued walking home in silence. Before long we could see my house in the distance we started speeding up when we were both knocked back from running into someone. It was a girl and she fell.

"Holy shit are you okay?" I asked as I helped her back up. I noticed she was wearing a hospital gown and was covered in dirt. I looked at her face and saw pretty E/C eyes and H/L, H/C hair. She looked beyond frightened and exhausted.

"Y/N?"

"Wait you know her?"

"Yeah, she was at the Lab when I- oh shit!" Will was about to finish when she just collapsed out of nowhere. We can't leave her out here like this, what if she's in trouble like El was? I grabbed her arm and Will grabbed the other to help.
