Chapter: four

Catra's POV

"Better start running." I smile, watching her run to her kingdoms rescue. She's such an idiot, always running off into danger.

"Catra! Why are you just sitting there?" Shadowweaver screams, since it's impossible for her to say anything nice about me.

"If you must know I was distracting shera, since your magic can't handle the job."

"You ungrateful brat! If it wasn't for me you still be on beast island."

"thank you so much" I say sarcastically rolling my eyes.

"It's bad enough, since you started hang out with that blond girl, but do you need to be this stubborn?"

"What blond girl?" I ask, trying to play dumb.

"The one you sneak out to see."

"You don't know what you're talking about" I hope out of the tree, walking away.

"Isn't her name adora?"

"Don't you dare say her name" I snap clenching my fists. "I don't know what you think you saw, but there's not a blond girl in the wood. Got it?"

She chuckles talking a few steps closer. "You're not in a position to be making threats Catra, remember who has the power here."

"Also" she stops right next to me. "I never said she was from the woods."

"I have power!" I scream, as she disappears. "What doses shadowweaver know anyways?"

I go to the local horde base, get a run down about what happened the usual.

"You did great" someone smiles, hugging me from behind.

"Put me down!" I scream, kicking my legs as she lifts me of the ground.

"Sorry I'm a hugger" Scorpia smiles putting me down. "I'm trying positive reinforcements to get the troops spirts up, shadowweaver stopped by and she's a bit of a downer."

"Tell me about it" I whisper, rolling my eyes.

"Well I'm going back to the castle, what about you?"

"I think I'll stay here for a bit, well at least until shadowweaver notices I'm gone."

"okay, I'll see you in a few days"

After helping the base get mostly packed up I walk around for awhile. Since I can't really do anything, and my best friend is like my biggest enemy.

"Catra?" Someone grads my shoulder, we're I instinctively flip them on their back.

"Lonnie?" I ask

"Yep, shadowweather wanted me to make sure someone stay behind to make sure you safely get back to the castle."

"Why are you actual here?" I ask, showing my claws.

"Shadowweather wanted to make sure you didn't pull another disappearing act." She slowly stands up. "You tend to go missing for a few weeks after a mission."

"So, what?" I ask. "I did my job, and I like talking the scenic route home."

"Catra were fighting a war, you can't just disappear." Lonnie argues.

"Whatever" I tisk, grabbing my bag. "Like you can stop me"

"I don't" she grins crossing here arms.

"What?"

"Hey Lonnie! I'm ready to go" Kyle screams from the front door of the base waving his hands around like he's trying to catch a fly.

"Meet your travel buddy" Lonnie smirks. "Feel free to take the scenic route but he stays with you till you get back to the castles."

"You wouldn't"

"Oh, I would."

"You have to be kidding me" I sigh, as Kyle comes running over.

"Are you ready for a road trip?" Kyle asks, trying to get me to high five him.

We've been walking for twenty minutes, but it already fells like three hours have gone by. "Kyle can you stop talking?!" I snap

"Oh.. sorry. It's just people don't normal want to talk to me." He whispers looking upset. "Do you mind if I ask you a question?"

"Whatever" I roll my eyes. "If it keeps you quite fit the rest of the trip."

"Why do you keep running away?"

"I don't know what you're talking about." I hiss "I don't run away."

"After every mission? After training you always disappear." He argues. I didn't know Kyle had such a mouth.

"What about you jump at the change to do a scouting mission?"

"I just don't like being in the kingdom." He whispers. "I don't belong there."

I stare at him for a few moments, I can't believe I'm going to open up to Kyle. "I feel the same way."

"Really, why?"

"Um, that's sort of embarrassing." I whisper, slightly blushing at the thought of Adora.

"So mine, why don't we sat it in three. That way it's a bit less embarrassing" he offers

"Okay" I nod, it might be good to tell someone.

"Okay, one, two, three" he counts down

"I'm in love with a girl/boy" we say in unison.

"You're gay?" I ask

"You Like a girl?" He asks at the same time.

We both start laughing, I never thought I would find a common interest with Kyle of all people.

"I never thought we would have something in common." I chuckle

"Same" he laughs back. "So how's this girl you like? Is it Scorpia, you two go on a lot of missions together?"

"No" I shake my head.

"What about Lonnie?"

"Lonnie?" I ask "are you trying to insult me? And you don't know here she's not from the horde."

"Oh, mystery girl! What's her name?"

"Adora" I softly smile.
