Adora's POV

"Catra" I huff, swinging my sword at the training dummies. She sitting in that tree smiling at me, her voice saying my name. All of it, all of it makes me angry.

"woah, Adora. Wanna take a break?" Glimmer asks. "You've practice destroyed thd dummies."

"Just a few more minutes" I huff, why did she have to be apart of the horde kingdom, why did she have to leave.

"Adora!" Glimmer screams teleporting in front of me. "You need to talk a break, you look like you're about to pass out."

"I'm fine" I mutter, reaching for my necklace. "Everything is fine."

"please take a break, for me?"

"I'm fine, glimmer"

"For the love of god! Sit down or I will forcefully take away your sword!" Glimmer argues.

"Okay, okay" I back away, dropping my sword. "You win"

"Adora, are you okay? So seem stressed lately?" Glimmer asks, handing me my water bottle.

"It nothing, I just don't wanna end up like Maria. Lighthope..everyone relied on her, and she let them all down."

"Adora, you can't let me down" glimmer smiles, side hugging me. "I know our kingdom relies on you a lot because you're shera, but we also relay on adora."

"Thanks glimmer, we relay on you too."

"Soo, where's that necklace from, is it from a special someone?" Glimmer asks raising an eyebrow.

"No" I say slightly blushing. "What about you, did you tell bow yet?"

"Shush!" Glimmer shushes me. "He could hear you."

"So that's a no" I chuckle

"What about you? I've seen your box full of notes and drawings, when are you going to tell me their name?"

"I already told you I'm not interested in stuff like that"

"Really? What about your necklace, friends don't normally get each other such expensive gifts?" She raises her eyebrow.

"It was a present, and who are you to talk you won't tell bow you like him and you're questioning me about my love life?"

"So you admit you have a love life?"

"You dork" I chuckles, playfully punching her shoulder.

"Sorry to interrupt" one of the guards walks in. "the queen would like to speak to you both."

"Okay" glimmer sighs, teleporting into the hallway. "What doses she want now?"

"I'm not sure," I quickly join her, seeing the queen in person still freaks me out. I mean she's so strong, she single handles runs an entire kingdom. I just don't want to let her down, like Maria did.

"I'm sending you to the princess ball" the queen says staring at the large battle map. "we have a lead that it will be infiltrated by the horde kingdom."

"The princess what know?"

"It's basically a dance party for the princesses" glimmer whispers.

"Adora, this will be your first year attending the ball. Try to follow the rules, a lot of our kingdoms allies will be in attendance. We need those connections, and most of them knew Maria and won't be happy with her replacement."

"mom" glimmer aggressively whispers. "Don't use the M word."

"I'm sorry adora, it was rude of me to bring up your fallen comrade." The queen apologizes bowing her head. "But your mission stays the same, stop the horde kingdom no matter the cost, we can't allow them to make allies."

"Yes ma'ma" we say in unison, straightening our back to appear taller.

"Good, Glimmer I'll fill you in on the details later. You're both dismissed."

"Yes ma'ma" we once again say at the same time.

"OMG! Your first princess ball, this is gonna be some awesome. I can't wait for you to try the food and  all the pretty dresses" glimmer continues to talk about the ball?
I don't see what's so great about it,

"It's just a ball" I shrug.

"Just, just a ball?! This is the biggest diplomatic event of the year. Ever kingdom goes, it's the only time we get to socialize with anyone breaking out into fights."

"ever kingdom?" I ask, them shouldn't the horde be allowed to go?

"Yeah, but first we have to get you caught up with the princess laws and regulations.

"I don't know if lighthope will let me take a break from training."

"I'll talk you her, all you have to worry about is hitting the books." She smiles throwing like eighteen textbooks on my desk.

I slightly laugh, "when's the ball again?"

"In two days" she smiles, like its possible to read all this in two days.

"I'll go talk to lighthope" she waves, teleporting out of the room.

I look back at the mountain of books, "I'm screwed"
