CHAPTER 6: Jeon Jungkook
Byul turned around and headed towards the door to finally leave the room. She took one last glance and almost sobbed on the spot upon seeing the large man appearing small before her with an unreadable expression, before looking away and exiting the room, shutting the door behind her.
"Please, escort my client to the parking lot and make sure he leaves this place as soon as possible," she ordered to the two men outside her room, looking at no one in particular, before walking on the hallway towards to her changing room.
Taehyung, noticing the gloomy look on his sister's face, looked at the bulky man who also watches Byul's room beside him, giving him the order which the latter nodded in response, before following the dancer. He knows something's wrong with her.
Byul sat in front of her large mirror with a thud. She hastily removed the mask, proceeding next to removing her makeup, revealing her bare face. It hasn't been five minutes since she entered the room when the door opened, her brother inviting himself inside. He chose to stand beside her, watching her reflection as she continued cleaning her face, instead of sitting on the couch like he usually does. From that simple gesture, Byul already knows that Taehyung is ready to switch into his full-brother mode.
"You okay?" he asked in a very gentle manner.
The dancer managed to maintain her emotionless expression while still cleaning her face, when deep inside, her heart is crumbling into pieces and drowning from sorrow. She shrugged her shoulders to mask the broken feeling inside her.
"Yeah, I'm fine. Why?"
"What's with your face, then?" His voice was now a bit stern but still laced with concern. "And the hickeys on your neck, did that guy hurt you or forced you? Not to mention that your session finished later than usual."
Byul was quick to shake her head in negation, avoiding his gaze before standing up. Taehyung sighed in defeat, knowing his sister won't speak about what's bothering her, as per usual.
"I'm fine, oppa. I'll just take a quick shower," Byul uttered while straightly walking towards the small attached bathroom without glancing at her brother who's still standing behind her abandoned chair, not waiting for his response.
She exhaled a lungful of air she didn't know she was holding while Taehyung was around. For a reason, she felt nervous about her brother knowing what she did with her client. Not to mention that said client was her best friend whom she left back in Busan. She didn't even know how he'd react upon knowing that someone from her hometown is here in Seoul, and the thought that she might cross paths again with Jungkook scares her more.
Byul stared at the mirror above the sink, focusing on her bare face before lowering her gaze to the few red-purplish marks on her neck and collarbones. She sighed once again, this time mentally scolding herself for getting emotionally carried a while ago that she permitted her client to mark her, let alone touch her, even though that client is her best friend.
After a few curses in mind, she proceeded in removing all her clothing and stepping into the hot shower. It didn't take too long since she was already tired, just enough to remove the glitters and makeup that was covering the inks drawn on various parts of her skin that her golden outfit failed to cover. Afterwards, she stepped into a clean oversized white shirt and a pair of black leggings.
Taehyung was gone when she went out of the bathroom, probably tidying and finishing his job for the night so they could finally go home. Reaching back to her makeup table, she arranged everything back to their original places and packed her things on her small duffel bag.
