Chapter 10- Here We Go

        President Victoria was in deep  thoughts well fantasy land to be exact. She was smiling like never before and that made everyone in her office and the whole palace at large. The big secret never came  out, nobody knew she was sneaking out with Nicholas to have fun for a few weeks after  inflicted emotional  torture of denying the truth of how she felt about Nicholas. Sophia also did not know about it until she caught them kissing. '' So for how long has this been going on?'' Sophia opened the door and slammed it closed.  '' This is awkward'' Nicholas whispered. '' We you know how the past few weeks have been sneaking out on lunch time and sometimes supper time and sometimes during morning briefing , well this is what has  been keeping me occupied'' the president with awkwardness towards her best friend replied.  '' You know am not against this , whatever this is, but sneaking like teenagers  will not do anything to support your answers, but well who am I to judge.'' Sophia replied with a bit of disappointed voice.   '' Am sorry Sophia we did not mean to upset you, it was fun to do this I mean, look at us '' the president said while putting a smiley face . '' We know it was wrong, but then it was kind of fun being mysterious ,we are sorry '' He replied. They talked it out and resolved it, Sophia could not be angry at any of the two because she loved president Victoria and Nicholas grew on her as time flew.

    

       The month of July was a big month in  a country like Tanzania because it was a budget month and the whole country was excited to hear  what the president and his cabinet had planned for the  country for the next year. She and her financial advisor with the minister of Finance sat down and discussed f what to do with the budget and how to Increase revenue and stop depending on donor nations for a big percentage. '' Well,  Mr Musa am glad we came to a clear conclusion of what the people want I believe I chose you with the proper expertise to change our financial standings and I see us doing great things together am glad I could count on you'' the president complemented. '' Thank you,  madam president for putting trust in me to drive this nation alongside you to make history together.'' Minister Musa replied.

          The meeting with her financial advisor ended and she was full of excitement of people's response to the budget she was going to present to them. '' You do realize your minister will be the one giving the budget speech right?'' Sophia said. '' Yes, I know I am just having goosebumps and its fun to have something feeling so different after a long time'' She replied.   '' Are we still talking about the budget or Nicholas?'' Sophia asked.   '' Things are going my way we are achieving some of the promises we promised to do and Nicholas is making me happy so it's kind of a win win situation for me'' the president replied while doing the victory dance.   '' What are you doing ?'' Sophia asked. '' I am doing our victory dance just like what we always do join me don't feel shy'' she replied. They did their victory dance and it was kind of embarrassing because Nicholas walked in. '' So what are the two powerful women in the country doing exactly?'' he asked while trying to squeeze in the laughter which was growing in him.  ''Nicholas what are you doing here?'' The president asked while trying to hide behind Sophia.  '' I came to see my girlfriend and until now I see she really knows how to dance'' He joked.  '' No, I don't '' she replied. '' Yes, you do and I like it?'' Nicholas replied.. '' Sophia make  him stop please?'' she lamented in a joking voice. '' I am enjoying the show for a change this is fun'' Sophia replied. '' Don't feel embarrassed its cute what you did and you  being the president and all it makes it  beautiful.'' He replied while pulling Victoria and kissing her. '' Gross, you two get a room'' Sophia interrupted. They went and spent time in the resident garden, which was full of beautiful flowers and trees.

         That evening the budget was read and was live in every media in the country and the response was good from the members of parliament. The president was happy that her budget was approved and was to be discussed. She knew that was a start of becoming a great nation. She was pleased and drank wine with Sophia and her boyfriend Nicholas. She also wondered how could the media not know she was dating Nicholas while they knew about her fashion sense. The palace was full of joy and Sophia called the minister to congratulate him for his successful presentation.
