CHAPTER 3

"After the pain, you'll get a strongest heart."

Patiently, waiting for the guy my mom wants to introduce to me. I read the text inside the fortune cookie that I opened. Only a few minutes and the clock will hit eight o'clock.

My mom sent me the location this afternoon, just like what she says I need to meet her business associate son.

Two days has passed, after the incident in my dream. In that days, wala pa akong matinong tulog, puro iglip lang.

I got a presentation to make for my instructor, --the terror one, that's why I need to focus on it and put so much effort. She even emphasize that she's expecting higher on me. Katatapos ko lang gawin kanina, kaya makakabawi ako mamaya ng tulog.

The creaking sound of the chair, sign that it's been moved, cut my thought. A guy wearing a black T-shirt pulled the chair across to me and sits down. Nanlaki ang mga mata ko ng makilala kung sino ito, sa dami ng lalaki sa mundo bakit s'ya pa.

"You?! What are you doing here?" Gulat kong tanong sa lalaking dumating sa harapan ko.

Nakuha ko ang atensyon ng iba dahil sa lakas ng boses ko.

He chuckled as he sits on the chair, "Your reaction makes me think, I am the last person you expect to see tonight."

"No, you're not the last one. But, atleast at the bottom of the list," singhal ko sa kan'ya. "Wait. Alam n'ya ba 'to?"

He pulled his phone on his short pocket, makikita mo talagang napilitan lang ito sa pagpunta. Nakasuot ako ng dress, samantala s'ya ay naka- short at T-shirt lamang.

"I'm about to call her," showing me the screen of his phone. "You knew my parents are not against or agree in our relationship, Prime. Dad, just requested it, at kinukulit n'ya ako, she agreed with this dinner that's why I show up."

"Who is she? Maganda ba?" nangibabaw ang boses ng babae sa kabilang linya.

Inaabot sa 'kin ni Zane ang phone. Yes, it's Zane, of all people sya talaga ang sinet up sa 'kin ni Mommy.

"Hey, I'm about to snatch your boyfriend, we are getting engage," pang-aasar ko sa kan'ya.

"You b8tc---"

"Just kidding, it's me, Prime," agap ko agad, knowing Xan she will rush here and pull my hair. "Why did you give your permission on this?"

"Because I trust him," napangiti ako pagka tinggin kay Zane, that's only the reason, huh.

"What if some other girl talaga ang nakilala n'ya, and stole him for real."

"Sasabunutan ko s'ya," asik n'ya. "Hindi papayag si Zane, alam mo naman gurl, patay na patay sa 'kin 'yan," pagmamalaki n'ya pa.

Natawa ako sa sinabi n'ya, "You know, I feel like a mistress right now."

Binalik ko ang phone kay Zane, after saying goodbye to Xan, kasi kapag di ko pa pinutol baka abutin pa kami ng kina-umagahan sa pag-uusap.

We still continue the dinner, gutom na din naman daw s'ya, throughout the dinner si Xan lang nag pinag-uusapan namin. He's madly inlove with my bestfriend, I can see it in his eyes and smile. I really admire the both of them, when it comes to their relationship. They are cool to each other, respecting each other decision.

I'm leaning at my headboards bed, when a knock interrupt me from reading. After the dinner, dumaretso na 'ko pauwi sa bahay.

My Mom wants to talk to me in her office, according to our maid. Yes, she got an office in our house, dinadala n'ya talaga ang trabaho n'ya dito sa bahay.
