Just about everyone offered to switch with Kurt, so he didn't have to room with Jeff, but he declined them all. They all knew Jeff was incapable of physically hurting anyone, so he decided that he would literally force Jeff to live with him.

"You know, I'd be fine rooming with Kurt, you could have volunteered too," Nika said when they and Wes were in their dorm.

"Yeah, I figured you would be, but I didn't volunteer because I'm not fine rooming with Jeff. I mean, he's already going to hate me for siding against him, I don't need to give him any more reasons."

They nodded, curious as to what Wes meant but not asking.

Jeff was very unhappy about being Kurt's roommate, but there wasn't anything he could do.

At least, they thought there wasn't. Then Kurt got called to the Dean's office.

"You asked to see me, sir?" he asked politely as he got there, rather nervous. He was wearing a skirt again to piss off Jeff; he didn't expect to be called in front of the Dean.

"Ah, Mr. Hummel. Come, sit."

He did, hands trembling. "Have I done something wrong?"

"I was hoping you could tell me that. You and Montgomery will be switching rooms, I– Mr. Hummel?"

Kurt turned back around, gripping the arm of the chair with his hand. "Yes?" he asked, voice tight. There were no windows showing out of his office into the rest of the school, and the door was shut.

He frowned. "Why are you so nervous?"

"Sir, do you know why I transferred from my old school?" he blurted out.

The man raised an eyebrow. "No. Is that something I should know?"

He shook his head. "No, it's nothing, it– could you open the door?"

"If I open it, people may eavesdrop. You and Montgomery will be switching dorms due to a concern I received from your roommate. He says you make him... uncomfortable."

"Sir, it's because I wear skirts, he hates me because he thinks I'm a crossdresser– I mean, sometimes, he's not exactly wrong– and he blew up on me on the first day and now he's trying to get out of being my roommate at all possible costs and I have no problem with switching dorms to get away from him but please I feel like I'm suffocating please let me leave or open the door before I faint," Kurt said all at once, words running together. His knuckles were white where he gripped the arms of the chair.

The Dean didn't answer immediately, processing it, and Kurt got up, rushing over to the door, throwing it open, and collapsing against it.

"Kurt!" Blaine, seeming to appear out of thin air, caught him. "Are you alright? The minute I remembered how closed-off his office is, I came running. I'm so sorry, I should have warned you."

"It's alright," Kurt said softly, hugging him and beginning to calm down. "I just freaked out a little."
