thea sighed as she walked into the huge house where the yearly tradition of senior parties were being held. this year it was at michael's house. because apparently, he's the coolest guy in school.
god, she'd rather date a rock than admit that michael was the coolest guy in school. she tiptoed, looking around to see if luke had accepted lea's invitation to attend the party. even just for awhile.
it was a saturday night, she sat on 1 of the couches, letting michael blabber away to his friends. she was zoning out, focusing on finding luke; the real love of her life. and not michael. her eye lit up when the door opened, revealing the same luke, but with a totally different aura.
he had a red checkered flannel on, skinny jeans and his hair was up in a tall quiff. but his glasses were still on. and if thea could only go up to luke, she would do the least she could to boost up his confidence and tell him that he looked really hot in those clothes and should wear them more often.
"well, if it isn't luke!" michael cheered, walking over to where the poor awkward and alone boy was.
"michael, leave him alone, jesus fucking christ," thea snapped, pulling michael back to where she was. calum continued to walk towards the blonde, rubbing his hands together as if he was planning something bad. "where the fuck is your idiotic asian friend going?"
"you told me to stay away, but not him," michael smirked. thea watched as calum dragged luke away, probably making him drink a little then use him for something pretty stupid after.
-
"hey thea!" luke slurred, stumbling towards where thea sat at the bar.
"hey luke!" thea waved, pulling a seat out for luke to sit in. "are you drunk?"
"yeah, i think i," he paused as a small hiccup escaped his lips, "am. calum gave me... teqila? tequila? or was that vodka? i don't know. i only had 3 shots though. i'm pretty drunk." he giggled, then giggled even more, staring at thea.
"jesus, i shouldn't have let calum take you away. you're pissed drunk," thea said, rubbing her temples.
"can i tell you something?" luke whispered after a while.
"sure, luke. you can tell me anything."
luke looked left and right, making sure that michael wasn't anywhere near them. "i like you, thea. i've liked you for long, but you never notice me anyway. actually, no i don't like you. i'm crazy in love with you, thea. i love you, but i know i don't have a chance. you're out of my league. and you're so beautiful and no offense, but you deserve someone better than michael. i don't think he treats you the way you deserve to be treated."
before thea could even say a word, calum came back and pulled luke away to the dance floor. as luke found a girl to grind on, he kept taking glances towards thea, sending her small smiles.
but thea couldn't help her heart that was pounding out of her chest, when luke said that he did like her.
she couldn't have been any happier. luke hemmings felt the same way towards her.
