it was one night

Hours later England felt eyes on him and it wasn't pleasant as he just wanted to do his work but he didn't feel safe. Russia was sat next to the British male helping him not listening to Germany's protests, he only cared about his sunflower and making him feel safe. No one was going to stop him from doing that as they were too scared of him, not even that American who clearly didn't like him near England, why was he so annoyed and ticked when the two were together? The silver-haired blonde didn't know and actually wanted to know as America seemed like a thread.

Russia continues to help England with his work when he zones out during the meeting this honestly concerned him but at least he'll be able to look after him now. The meeting went well and there was no trouble this time which was a surprise, England gets up packing his things away and Russia did the same ready to go. Once everyone left the bigger male picked the Brit up hugging him close to comfort him and hopes it makes the other happy.

England was definitely surprised when he was picked up but he didn't complain as it was nice so he hesitantly hugs him back smiling closing his eyes, "what is this for Ivan?" The Englishmen asked chuckling softly in Ivan's ear, this made Ivan smile as he managed to make him happy again but he was also blushing because he still had a huge crush on him.

"To make you feel better sunflower," Ivan said warmly as he gently sets him down then picks up his bag, "would you like to go out for a drink later?" The Russian asked as he takes Arthurs hand leading him to the cars. England went into his own as Russia does the same as they drive to the brits home to put their bags away so they won't forget it at the bar later as they both know they will lose something.

~time skip~

"Why do you talk to me...I'm rude and just plain up loud and annoying. . ", Arthur said and he sounded more emotional than he was the last time Ivan talked to him, he never got drunk in front of the Russian before so this was a side to Arthur Ivan has never seen. Ivan wasn't as far gone as Arthur though so he felt sad that his friend (crush) felt this way about himself.

"you are kind to me and don't run away scared of me, you understand my hardships and pain and listen to me when others don't ." Ivan didn't stutter either, his words came out a lot bolder. He loved talking to Arthur and the fact the other was opening up to him made him happy though he was drunk. Ivan shifts into the other side of the booth, plopping his own bottle down. "why do you think this anyways?" He asks him concerned and curiously.

"I guess people telling it to me every day since I was a kid but it's not like it matters..." the Englishmen responded putting his half-empty bottle down on the table looking down, it was true every word. Arthur truly took everything others say to heart and it hurts.

"It does Arthur, you are my comrade and I want to make sure my sunflower is happy with who he is" Ivan gently placed a hand on his back rubbing it lightly afraid to hurt him as he knew he could hurt him without noticing. Arthur started to drink again before sighing looking at the amount left in his glass. Throughout the night, the two talked and Ivan continued to comfort him while drinking as well. Arthur drinks leaning back looking Ivan up and down, he's actually quite good looking 'pfft as if I could get into his pants' Arthur looks away and onto the small dance floor. The Russian caught Arthur looking him up and down and his whole face flushed red. He lifted his scarf over his cheeks to hide his blush, playing it off as a cough. 'Is he into me..? God, I hope so- DON'T THINK LIKE THAT IVAN!'
Ivan also looked to the crowded dance floor, the strobe lights blurring his vision. "So- Do you dance?"

"I do...though I wish I didn't know how to dance the way I do..."
Arthur hated that he danced more sexual than normal do he just stopped so people won't think he was well... disgusting.
