3 DAYS LATER

"Damn! That week went by fast!!" Jimmy screamed as Matt drove us down to the beach. I continued

to watch the scenery go by in silence. Jimmy was sitting two seats over from me, Matt was driving, Val was in the passenger seat, and Zack was in between me and Jimmy.

"Yeah, tell me about it." Val commented with a smile on her face. I sighed just before I felt a weight

on my shoulder and arm. I looked down at Zack and he just wrapped his arms around the one he was leaning on. I patted his head before I went back to watching the scenery.

"You're kind of quiet Kid, what's up?" I looked up at Matt through the rear view mirror and quickly

returned my gaze to outside of the car. "Nothin'. Just in a depressing mood. Ow!" I rubbed the back of my head before I leaned over Zack and hit Jimmy in the back of the head in return.

"You two better cut it out or else I'm kicking you out of my car."

"You wouldn't do that!!" Jimmy yelled and I rolled my eyes as I watched the scenery slow down until

it came to a complete stop. I looked up at Matt to see him turned in his seat, looking at Jimmy. "Get out." Matt pointed to the side walk that he was pulled up to and Jimmy's jaw dropped open.

"Just let him stay in the car. We're never gonna hear the end of this if you kick him out." Val spoke

up, being the voice of reason.

"I say just kick him out." Zack's voice vibrated up my arm as he spoke.

"I say we let the Kid decide." Matt looked at me, and then everyone else looked at me.

"When did I become Kid?" Matt smirked and waited for an answer. I looked over at Jimmy, who was

giving me puppy dog eyes. I sighed and he smiled, thinking I was gonna let him stay. "I don't know."

"Pleeease let me stay, Kitten?!?!" Jimmy begged and stuck his lower lip out as he gave me puppy dog

eyes again.

I banged my head against the back of the seat and closed my eyes. "Fine, I guess."

"Yes!!!" I heard Matt grumble as he pulled out onto the road again.

"Why did we come down here if we're just sitting? We could have done this at home." I stated this

fact as I laid on the sand and put my head in Zack's lap; he brushed the hair out of my face without looking.

"Shut up or else you're walking home!" Jimmy yelled at me and I closed my eyes and ignored him.

"Hey! You're not the driver! You have no say in this!" Matt argued and Val sighed before speaking up.

"You okay, Kid?" Val brushed some of my hair back and I curled my fingers around the fabric of

Zack's jeans.

"Yeah, I guess." Val laid behind me and rested her head on my arm. "So you'd rather lay with her

than me?" Matt asked with slight laughter in his voice.

"Oh shush up." I pressed my face into Zack's stomach and he brushed my hair back again.

"Can I go home?" I whispered to Zack and he sighed.

"Matt?" Zack asked for Matt's opinion.

"I-"
