Rocky's Rocky Road.

A New Beginning, A New Job

-A/N- 6 Views On the Prev... No Comment. The image above shows the views on Love and Desire, now I thought the lack of views was because I had dropped off for a year, but you can see that my first post back got 1k, which is where I announced they wouldn't only be one-shots. Then you can see what happens after. Just thought the 6 of you should see that. 

-Conor's POV-
Ryder and I had short discussion before the ceremony. He told me that while having a third pup was great, it didn't really help them with one area that Ryder really wanted to expand his work to; the bay. I knew why, Rocky at this point wouldn't go anywhere near the bay. While we had input a water vehicle mode into his house, we had never really expected him to use it.  Marshall and I were instructed to keep him away from the lawn where the stage was set, I insisted I help set it up, but Ryder argued that it should also be a sort of surprise for me. 

Marshall had gotten Rocky to watch Apollo the Super Pup, and he seemed at least distracted for the time being. I guess it was interesting enough for him not to turn away. I quickly noted the time, and looked out the window, at Rocky's vehicle being rolled next to the stage, and a tarp being thrown over it, however on the other side was another tarped vehicle. Intriguing. 

-Rocky's POV- 

It was nearing midday when Ryder came up to the three of us,  and called us down to the yard. Marshall went down the slide, and Conor, Ryder, and I rode down the elevator when I saw everything. 

A stage, with welcome Conor and Rocky scrawled on a banner, was laid out in front of us. In front of that must've been the entire town of Adventure Bay, I could feel fear rising up inside of me, but I kept it down, even as we walked toward the stage, with booming applause and what must've been at least 500 people staring us down. Once we made it and Conor took his seat, I hopped up onto his lap, curling up and trying to hide myself best I could, which drew a sligh "aww" from some of the crowd. 

"What is this?" I whispered to Conor, as Ryder took the podium and began a speech. 

"It's an induction ceremony for us." He whispered back. 

"Are we gonna have to speak?" My anxiety peaked. 

"No, just me, unless you want to?" I quickly shook my head no. Ryder was telling the crowd about how we got here, and how the same qualities that got us here will make us great protectors of the town. I glanced around the stage, it seemed quite basic, with the exception of two covered objects on either side of the stage, maybe they're confetti canons or something. 

"And without further ado, I'd like to call up Conor to accept this medal and give you a little more insight into Adventure Bay's two new heroes." The blonde hair boy stood, and then placed me back on his chair, he made a bow while the shorter, younger boy placed a medal over his head. 

"Thank you... I really don't know what to say. There were times I thought we would never make it out, and sooner times where I thought we wouldn't make it here. But we did, and now we get to live out what we set out to do." He paused. "You guys can't tell how physically worn I am, but you can look at the pup behind me and see that he's been through alot. In fact, he's been through more than you or I could ever go through." He paused again and took a deep breath, composing himself. "Our journey, well it couldn't have ended this way without the generosity of you all. So thank you again." He came back to me and picked me up, but didn't sit back down as Ryder went back to the podium. 

"Speaking of that pup, we have a couple of things for him. Ryder approached us and clasped something around my neck, an orange band and what hung from that caught my eye, it was a green tag, with a lightbulb engraved on it. It was thecollar the others wore, each with individual tags on them, mine would be a lightbulb apparently, I liked the design on it. Ryder went back to the podium and explained my contraption from the first night, and how the bulb represented my creativity, ingenuity, inventing, and engineering skills. 

"That's not all, we have one more thing" Ryder said to the crowd. He pointed to the cover that was off to the left side of the stage, and almost instantaneously it was pulled back to reveal... a green truck? It resembled a truck we had seen parading around in Vegas. However it was open on the top, and was built for something way smaller than a person. "This will be Rocky's new vehicle, something we heavily designed off of the Tesla Cybertruck, except it is combustion powered, features more trunk/pickup space and can be driven by Rocky himself. Obviously, like the others, it can be transformed into a home and aquatic vehicle. The truck quickly folded up top, and lost it's wheels and became a house similar to the other ones parked around the lookout. 

I glanced out into the crowd I noticed Skye Chase and Marshall all looking up at me, Chase looked wholly indifferent, while Skye and Marshall each gave me cheeky smiles. Ryder interrupted our connection: "We also have a suprise for Conor, as this time the other curtain was lifted, and another vehicle was shown, it heavily reminded me of a Formula one car, in fact, if you didn't know it wasn't, you'd assume that's what it was. 

"While we don't have it operational yet, this vehicle for Conor will be able to drive on air and water, while also becoming a quadcopter and being able to take to the skies. We'd like to thank some of our friends in Woking, UK for getting us this chassis." 

The rest of the event was well, uneventful, I stayed in Conor's arms, not wanting to get caught out by myself to be staggered with questions. We got congratulations and questions all the same, but Conor handled them all, there was a luncheon, and after that people slowly helped us clean up and trickled away. 

"We'll train you on your vehicles tomorrow" Ryder announced. Things were looking up. Finally.
