You sat in the (y/h) common room clinging to your boyfriend's side, half asleep. One of his arms was around your waist the other held a pencil as a book was perched in his lap as your cat (y/c/n) was between the crook in your legs purring. He thought it was just perfect "haaa" he sighed "I must be the luckiest guy" thinking you were asleep he gave a small heartfelt speech "you're so pretty/handsome and kind" hearing those words your face bloomed with pink "you're brave an and smart" he ran his hands through your hair and placed the book on the coffee table in front of the small couch looking back at you. "You're always so willing to help me study even if it's late at night" his face turned pink smiling remembering the night of the confession.
Flashback
You awoke to the sound of hissing. You sat up and shushed him/her and looked up. As you did you saw Barnaby with tears in his eyes. You sighed softly as this wasn't the first time he's done this. Lighting the candle on your bedside table you patted the side of the bed and grabbed your wand. "Charms potions transfigurations or herbology" you said in a soft voice. Barnaby hesitated for a moment then spoke after a little comforting from you. "T-transfigurations I just can't get cat to cauldron right" "well we can't practice on my cat right now because you have to say the spell loudly but I can most definitely tutor you right now" you smile softly casting lumos for better light and began practicing the movement but after an hour or so he started panicking because he still didn't get it. He started to hyperventilate and you were very worried. "Barnaby what's wrong?" "C-can't breathe" you tried to soothe him but it didn't work "Barnaby focus on me I'm the only one here" you faltered thinking of the right words "everything is going to be okay I promise" he whimpered "I-I can't n-no it won't " He was gasping for air at this point. You were moving faster than thinking and you pulled him into a tight hig. His breathing slowed, he was calming down as he wrapped his arms around you. You finally let go giggling slightly . "Y/n I- why did you do that?" He said giving you a sad look "Barnaby I saw you panicking and I thought if I hugged you that you'd calm down" you said giving him a soft smile. Fumbling over his words he finally got out the sentence " (y/n) I really- I like you w-will you be my girlfriend?" before you could process what he said he pulled you into a tight hug "Of course I will" You said thinking you could never have been happier laughing and almost crying tears of joy

No longer tired you looked up seeing a Charms book on the table and a zoned out Barnaby so you popped up giving him a peck on the lips "Baby? shouldn't you be studying" you said smirking holding back laughter "it's ok I'll study tomorrow c'mere" he said pulling you on his lap and kissing your forehead "I love you" you whispered staring lovingly at your boyfriend. "I bet I love you more" Barnaby said staring at your (e/c) eyes making your face go red. With that her picked you up bridal style and took you to your dorm.
