Dinner

Amy's POV:

I walked into the house holding tightly to Oliver. Hope went straight to Klaus and hugged him tight. "Sister." "Brother." I unravelled myself from Oliver and hugged Klaus tight. We walked to the table and began our usual chit chat, watching the time slowly tick by.

Harley's POV:

"We shouldn't be here Har. We need to leave." "And go where? I know I shouldn't have rang Hope. But she's special too. If she wasn't, she wouldn't be at that school. I'm not saying we trust her with everything. I'm not saying that we stay here for long. But we need to figure out what and who we are before we try and run. A few days. That's all I'm asking. Then we will leave New Orleans and figure life out from there. But please. 1 week." Phoenix looked at me with disbelief. "We obviously can't stay in this house for the week. That's not fair on Amy or Oliver. We are having dinner with them tonight. We will explain that we will be leaving by sunrise tomorrow so we can make head way to find somewhere to go." Nodding, I turn and see the bed. "I'm going to nap for a bit if that's ok?" "Of course. I'll wake you up when they're back."

"Harls. Harrleeeyyy. Wakey wakey". I opened my eyes to see Phoenix looming over me. "Shhh" I tried rolling over but was rolled straight back and forced to look at Phoenix again. "I said, wake up. Come on." I rolled over and stood to my feet. Straightening myself out, I walked into the living room to see Oliver placing plates filled with food onto the kitchen table. Amy was adding more wood to the fire that warmly lit the room. "Come sit sweetheart." Oliver said. I went over to the table and took my seat next to Phoenix and opposite Amy who was next to Oliver. "So kids. We want to have a conversation with you. We aren't sure why you have no where to go or where you came from, but you are welcome to stay here for as long as you need. We would be honoured to have to guys stay with us." Amy said. "We will be leaving New Orleans by the end of the week." Phoenix announced. "Well please stay with us until then." "We would love to." I agreed to Oliver's offer. Phoenix looked at me with disapproval. I rolled my eyes as we carried on eating our dinner. 

"I'm going to head to bed. Goodnight." Oliver said, coming over and kissing Amy on the cheek. "Me too." Phoenix announced. I went to stand by Amy grabbed my hand. "I want to talk to you before you go to bed." Amy said. I nodded. "Take a seat." Following her order, I sat next to her on the sofa, facing the fire. "So, I know that Phoenix is incredibly protective of you. I could tell that from the moment I met you both. But that doesn't mean that he has control of your future. You seem like a bright girl. Hope told be that you go to school with her. That means that you have power. It also means that you have a lot of potential in this world. I don't want either you or your brother to miss out on any opportunities you want to take because of fear. I am here for you to talk to. If you need someone to listen or to shout at or whatever it is you need, I am here." Hearing Amy say those words felt good. I've never trust anyone besides Madge and Phoenix. Trust is something that must be earned. But I felt safe around her. Like everything made sense. "I'm here when you're ready to tell your story. But for now, until you want to leave, you and Phoenix are welcome to stay here, attend school and stay safe. I promise that me and Oliver will protect you from whatever it is your hiding from." "That's just it. We don't know. My earliest memory is being found by Madge when I was 4. I have nothing before that. I don't know who or what is after us. I didn't know I was special until recently. I really appreciate everything you're doing for me and Nix. It's nice to know that the whole world hasn't quite turned its back on us just yet." "Go to bed and get some rest. Breakfast will be ready when you wake up. Hope will meet you here to go to school with you. Goodnight." "Goodnight."
