I'm about to shred everybody in this room to pieces.
I stared at his outstretched hand. As a human being who's living in a money induced world, I'm pretty impressed that the amount of zeros on the check isn't doing a number on my subconsciousness like it should.
"Judging from your face right now, this is probably a bit of a shock to you" A bit is an understatement.
I didn't bother hiding my glare this time around as I push aside his outstretched hand.
He doesn't look shocked by the fact that I technically just rejected his offer and he doesn't look offended as well like most would. Which leads me to thinking that this man is probably more than some agent looking for a property to buy.
"Listen here-"
"You're also invited to this party" He brings out a smaller piece of paper. He hands it to me and gently taps the card stock.
"If you have any complaints go there" His mouth quirks into a sly smirk before taking his leave.
Just like that.
He didn't looked the least bit bothered and if anything, I feel like he was expecting it.
The sound of the door clicking shut resonates through the studio and it's quiet after that. The weight of the card on my hand is a bit too heavy for a piece of paper as I stared at it. Though my brain is not really capable of processing anything written on it right now.
A hand appears in sight and snatches the paper out of my hands. I jumped back as Cal inspected the invitation.
"What are you doing?"
"Inspecting it, there might be a clue hidden somewhere here" I stared at him blankly.
"It's an invitation"
"That came from the devil" I opened my mouth to retaliate but quickly closed it cause one; true and two; I'm suddenly bone tired from all this and it's not even past 10 in the morning.
"Whatever, fucking burn it after you're done digesting it" I said, making my way back to my bed.
"Wait, you're not going?" I snort back a laugh. I turned around to look at him.
"Why would I go there?" He raises an eyebrow as he gestures towards the paper.
"I don't know, because they're buying your studio and the only way to resolve it is to go to this party?" I scoffed.
"That won't do shit" If anything, me going to that party is a fucking horrible idea that he of all people should know.
Never play with fire. That's a rule to surviving in this world.
"Besides, it'll take more than a check and some big words and names to get my ass out of here" Granted, he didn't even dropped a name and even if he did, even if the one who bought this place was one of the three devils at the top of the hierarchy, it'll still take more than that to take this place away from me.
I've poured my literal blood, sweat, and tears into this place. They seriously need to reconsider a lot of things if they think I'll bow down to them just like that.
I didn't bother having my mind process what Cal was saying as I jumped back into my bed, burying myself under the dozen blankets and pillows, already slipping into unconsciousness.
When I wake up, I'll just go by my day and pretend this entire ordeal didn't happened.
