Both girls had been on cloud nine since they admitted their feelings for each other. Neither had really come out to their parents, but they didn't hide their affection either. The parents knew, and were so happy that their girls were happy. Charlie admitted to Abel that he was happy that his daughter started dating someone like Everest after the disaster with 'that Cullen kid.'
Others in the small town weren't so accepting. However a glare and some defensive words shut them up quickly. Bella was still pretty bummed that Jacob was ignoring her, but swears to her girlfriend that it is just because she enjoyed their friendship. Everest chose to believe her, and since she couldn't stand to see her girlfriend so upset; decided to help her take her mind off her missing friend by taking her on a hike to a pretty clearing she had found while hiking with her siblings a few weeks ago.
"C'mon babe, we're almost there!" A smiling Everest encouraged her girlfriend, who trips over yet another stick as they hike through the forest, off trail.
"I'm sorry Ev, are you sure we should be going so far off trail?" Bella asks, worrying her bottom lip between her teeth.
Smiling, Everest pauses to prevent Bella from tripping again, before tugging the girls lip from between her teeth and giving her a small peck.
