my feet navigated the pathway below me as I lost myself in the depths of the song. My arms outstretched, and light, i supposedly balanced myself as I walked the track. No one ever came out here, no one knew of the beauty. The way the sun rested just above the treetops. It was mesmerizing really, how beautifully the crickets sang, how when the night fell a cooling breeze swept over the land. Fireflies danced on the breeze, claiming it, playing it like a tune. This is where I thought. I came here, every night. As I reached the rusted car I hulled myself up the first rung. The latter gave me a pathway up to the roof, and their i stood. My boots thumped onto the metal topping as I watched. My headphones, drowned out the noise of the world as I swayed my arms back and forth at my sides. I sighed in content as I slipped down the ladder. As I walked around the side of the car I hummed to the song. It rang in my ears, as I pulled door open. Its tracked creaked, and clattered, until my safe haven was reviled. My hand grasped the side of the door as I swung up, and into the car. I aimlessly flipped the switch on the cheep discoball, as its colors cast a melodic state. A slow hum came from the light as it rotated in a circle. Whilst sitting in my chair, I grasped my copy of ' the fault in our stars' its ironic that everygirl in the world has probably read this, and I'm not everygirl.

slowly I pulled out my earphones, first my right ear, then my left. slowly but surly the sound of the coming night filled my ears. as I listened, the faint laugh filled the air. Out of shock, I stood to my feet with haist. I held onto the door, and leaned out of the car. Faintly I saw the sillowets of a group, the laugh got louder, and as it did I saw them. They fell into the treeline, and started to dispurse. All but one. He stood, facing the old car, staring with curiosity. After somewhat of a wait, he cautiously approached me. Wishing not to be found I slipped behind the door, breathing unevenly. The crunch if old gravel grew louder, foot steps taunting me.

'Hello?' The voice called. It was soft, but raspy. I held my breath. His hand wrapped around the door as he pulled himself up. At first he glanced to the right, his eyes looking at every inch of the car. Then his eyes flickered towards me.

'Hel- oh um hi?' He questioned awkwardly. He looked me up and down, a nervous smile playing on his lips.

'Hey.' I said looking at the floor, and noticing my dropped copy. His gaze followed mine towards his feet, he kneeled down, slightly tilting his head to read the cover.

'Its rude to snoop.' I stated with a small smile on my lips. His gaze shot up nervously, his body tense, until he saw my small hint of amusement. A chuckle escaped his pink lips as he stood, my treasure in his hand.

'Whats your name?' He quizzed extending his arm. Giggling in the slightest I grabbed my book.

'Lyric, you?' I asked smiling bigger now.

'Chris. What is this place?'

'First, its nice to meet you, second. Its my haven. My place to run to, my escape.'

'How did you find it?' He gapped at the view infront if him as he turned to look at the door.

'That, is a secret.' I stated while perching myslef back in my chair.

'Well, it looks like I have a puzzel to solve, dont I?' His smirk prominent as he perched himself on the floor, his back agenst the wall.

' two words for you, stranger danger...' I spoke pulling a smirk of my own. A unsuspected laugh bubbled from him, his eyes squinting at the corners, his smile stretching wide.

'Okay, okay,' he paused breathless. 'Get to know me.'
