Chapter 4

Skipping a couple days.~

I was sitting next to the fire, hand resting on my belly. I couldn't possibly bring a child in to this now tucked up world. The sun was rising higher up into the sky, making the day hotter. I looked over towards Lori who was stirring up a stew. It looked gross but smelled good. Maybe that was just because I haven't ate since yesterday. I've been trying to give most of my portions to the people who needed it most. My thoughts were interrupted, when Amy came up to us with a red pal.

      "This is all I could find." She said, handing the pal over to Lori, who dumped some mushrooms into a small silver bowl. "I hope they aren't poisonous. I don't know how to tell if they are." Amy finished.

     "We will have to wait till Shane gets back to make sure." Lori said. Speaking of Shane, me and him have come very distant. To me it seems like him and Lori have been becoming closer. My jealousy side of me is acting up. But then my caring side is saying that she just needs someone close to her. She needs to be comforted. I can see that. But they keep disappearing with each other. Maybe she is just having a crying session over Rick and didn't want people to see. But that little jealousy side of me says different.

"I'm gonna go look for more." Lori said, interrupting my thoughts. She stood up and started to walk away.

   "I could help you?" Amy said.

   "No, it's ok. You can rest, you've done enough for now." She said walking away. That voice in my head kept telling me to get up and follow her. To help her of course. I felt like I haven't done nothing for our huge group. Except do mine an Shane's laundry. So I stood up and followed her.  I didn't walk fast, if I did it just would wear me out more. Me being pregnant an all, it gets really hot.

I was following Lori into the woods. I slowed down. I would catch up to her no doubt. I slid my hand to my back pocket to make sure my handgun was there. Just incase a walker would jump out on me. You never know now a days. Lori was still in my sight. Bit I was sure she couldn't see me. I sped up a little bit. I was maybe 20 feet from her when Shane came out. I jumped behind a tree. I thought about scaring them. It was risky but I thought it would be funny.  Looked out to them to see the shock of my life.

I know, super short.  Am sorry. But I also have Chapter 5 done:) I don't feel like being mean and making you wait. Cause I thought I made you all wait long enough for Chapter 4.
