Chapter 8

The sun was rising in the east, visibility is clear. Though it's hard to see because my eyes are swollen with no sleep. Last night was the worst. Walkers invaded our camp, biting many. Amy included. She died. Many others died to. Thankfully Rick, Daryl, Glenn, and T-dog came back with guns and killed the walkers. Or we could all be dead. I was now clinging to Shane's side scared that more walkers would come. As the sun raised higher in the sky the smell of dead flesh choked us. It was hard to find fresh air. I eventually puked, my stomach could not carry the fish we had. I was bent over puking my guts out when I felt a hand on my back. I knew it was Shane. He always tried to soothe me when I was in this state. Soon I was dry heaving. My stomach was trying to get every last bit of any substance out. I opened my eyes to see a water bottle in front of my face. I took it eagerly. I hurried to unscrew the cap. Once it was off I chugged the water down suddenly realizing I was dehydrated.  Shane picked me up bridal style and took me into the camper. He laid me out on the back bed.

"Stay, you need to rest. Not just for your sake, but for the babies. Stay in here drink plenty of water and try to get some sleep please." Shane said softly. I opened my mouth to protest, but shut it quickly knowing he was right. I often forget that it's not just me in this body, but a baby as well. I laid my head against the cool pillows. "I will be in here later to check on you." Shane said walking out of the RV. I sighed, I guess I have to try to sleep. I closed my eyes, and instantly fell asleep.

"Nova. Wake up babe. We have to leave now." Shane whispered in my ear slightly shaking me. I groaned sitting up. I rubbed my head, I had a headache coming on. "Come on we have to leave now. We are going to the CDC. You need to pack your stuff up into the hummer."Shane went on. He pulled me up by the arm. Once I was stood up I walked out of the RV. I went to mine and Shane's tent to pack my stuff up. I didn't have to pack much up since it has always been packed for emergencies. I hauled my stuff to my black hummer. I opens the back up to toss my stuff back there. "Babe, Daryl will be riding along with you. Okay." Shane yelled to me from his jeep. I gave him a thumbs up. Once I had all of my stuff in the back I kept the hatch up so Daryl could put his stuff in. I walked over to Shane to see if he needed any help.

Skipping an hour~

We were on the way to the CDC. Daryl was in the passenger seat looking out the window.

"I'm sorry about your brother." I softly said to him.

"If you were sorry you wouldn't have let them leave him handcuffed to a fucking roof." He snapped.

"For your information I didn't. I protested the fucking idea of leaving him. But me being a woman doesn't really help since no one cares on what I have to fucking say. So before you assume I agreed get you facts straight, and don't snap at me. Its very rude." I replied, anger was clearly in my voice. I glanced at him. He was shaking his head staring out the window yet again. Men these days. I looked back to the road. So much for trying to make a conversation...
