illumi pov

"mother you called?" my parents went out on a job and had just returned

"illumi-sama your parents await you in your fathers office" gotoh says

i head to my fathers office and knock

"come in" my fathers voice booms. i open the door and slip in silently, my father sits at his usual seat while my mother and a young girl i don't recognize sits on a couch across from him

"illumi. this is y/n, she'll be staying with us. you 2 will train together." my father says

"nice to meet you y/n. i look forward to training together" i say

"nice to meet you too illumi" she says with a grin, my heart flutters. i should probably ask what that is, it's weird

"illumi, show y/n around the estate" my mother says, i hold out my hand to her and she grabs it. our hands fit together perfectly, i lead her around the estate

"do you have any siblings illumi?" she asks

"i have a younger brother, do you?"i ask, referring to milluki. he's only a couple months old

"i don't have any siblings, can i meet your brother?" she asks sweetly

"okay" i say, leading her to his room, he's sleeping soundly inside

"he's not doing anything" she says

"he doesn't know how to do anything" i say

"babies are weird" she says, getting on her tip toes to see over the crib

"i think so too" i say

"so will it ever do anything? it looks pretty weak" she says

"i don't know, i don't believe i was ever like that. i don't remember it" i say

"me either, i think i would remember being that weak" she says with a grin, my heart flutters again. that really is weird.

"so we were both never babies" i say, she gives me a nod

"we were never babies" she confirms

"now illumi, you two should scurry along, your training will begin in an hour" my mother says, appearing in the doorway

"okay mother" i say

-time skip to after training-

"illumi what are you doing up here?" y/n asks me, we're sitting on the roof of the zoldyck manor. 

"what are you doing here?" i ask

"i asked first" she says

"i'm watching the sun" i say

"can i watch with you?" she asks, i nod and she sits down next to me, her arm brushes mine

"ouch" i say, the fresh cuts from training stinging

"did i hurt you?" she asks panicky

"n-no, it's just from training" i say

"did you not get your wounds treated?" she asks, i shake my head

"let me do it, i know how" she says

"uh, okay" i say, she goes inside and comes out moments later with a first aid kit

"why are you doing this?" i ask as she tends to my various cuts

"we're friends right? it's what friends do" she says

"but father says i don't need friends" i reply

"then we're...half friends" she says with a grin

"what's a half friend?" i ask

"umm...it's us, we're half friends!" she says

"okay then...half friend" i say. when she's done dressing my wounds we sit on the roof and watch the sun go down and only go inside when the stars are bright in the black night sky.
