Back In Time [WenGa] Short Story

Wendy reluctantly stood up from her feet and slowly made her way to his side, though not really by his side but probably a meter away from him. She kept her head down, scared to lift her head up.

"A queen should never keep her head down."

Wendy looked at him, he stared at her then back to the front again before he muttered, "Better." he turned to the man beside him, "Continue."

The man cleared his throat and took a step forward, "Are there anymore concerns towards the marriage of our king to the princess? "

The counselors perhaps, Wendy deducted since they all are wearing the same thing, all looked at each other as if they are reluctant to say their 'concern.

Wendy realized that it's because she's there that's why they are reluctant. She glanced at the king and saw that he knows already.

"She will be the future queen, there's no need to stop yourself from talking." The King says.

Future Queen... Wendy can't imagine herself in the position.

"Then I will speak on behalf of the council." A man stood up, who is handsome as well. Seems like there's no one is ugly here, even the elder men have pretty good faces. The Good world have also their own share equally handsome men but their princes and King cannot be compared.

"Go on."The guy spared her a glance first before he turned his eyes back on the king. "We all know that Good and Evil must not fall in love moreover marriage, it's a matter of time before the Good people use the future queen for selfish deeds."

"What are you implying?" The King's right-hand man asked. Wendy is curious too though it's inevitable for them to think this way.

"That we should hurry the marriage so the King would be able to consummate the marriage."

Consummate?! M-mating? Wendy went beet red she couldn't even look at the King.

"But we don't know how it will affect the King, the princess is very weak and has little power in her so she's able to consume the whole thing that's why she's very healthy right now." The man says. "But if the King took it from her, he may not be able to take all of it for his body only have enough power in him."

The King waved his hand on his right-hand man, "Jimin."

oh, so his name is Jimin.

"Yes, your highness."

"Bring her to her quarters, I will handle this." The King looked at her with an unreadable expression but Wendy doesn't know as she's busy staring down. Jimin was just about to speak but stop himself, instead, he walked towards me and told me to follow him."The King is a very busy person, I hope the princess understands if the King doesn't visit you frequently." Jimin said who is walking ahead of her.

"I understand."

She's not even expecting that he will really come just to see her. Jimin took her to her quarter, the color is very much the same but Wendy is glad that her curtains are white silver and it has also lots of plants inside. So she'll be living alone in this huge home? Royalties really... There won't be ghosts, right? She wondered how long the quarter is sitting there but it didn't have any speck of dust, they must have it cleaned. Wendy smiled at the thought.

Two women appeared by Jimin's side, pretty and have slim bodies, slimmer than hers actually. They are wearing white robes with black flowers drawn on them with a black belt on their waist.

"These are Seulgi and Yeri, they will be tending on you, protect you, and if you need anything you can tell them."

"Thank you." Though there's really no need.

"Then I will leave you by the care of these two, please rest and eat." He said then left.

"Princess-" Seulgi said but Wendy cut her off. "Don't call me a princess please, Wendy is fine."

"But it's against our rule," Yeri said. Wendy waved her hand at them, telling that it's okay, "No one is around anyway, it's okay. I'm not even a princess, there's no need for formalities."

"But... okay if you insist." Yeri said Seulgi elbowed her, "Yerim-a."

Wendy smiled at both of them sitting on the wooden chair outside, "It's okay, come here you two, I'm really curious about your world, please tell me."

"If I tell you, will you tell us about your world too?"Seulgi elbowed Yeri once again but she seems curious too, Wendy couldn't stop herself from laughing. Wendy nodded her head, "Of course!"

Yeri smiled widely taking a seat beside her, Seulgi followed her and sat on Wendy's other side so that she's in the middle."I like your dress, it's so white." Yeri said holding Wendy's white sparkly clothe. "Why are we wearing these depressing colors anyway?" She asked referring to their clothes.

"You like it? I have lots back home, I'll give you some later." Wendy then asked, "Tell me, is the King really cruel? He doesn't look scary when I met him."

"He's very reasonable, He's cruel to his enemies because he cares for his people." Wendy nods her head, admiring their King. She suddenly remembered something, she turned to them curiously.

"Can I ask if anyone of you two has ever been with a man intimately?" And just like that, the two blushed furiously, shaking their heads.

"The marriages in the Dark world are arranged by the people in the Kingdom."

"Huh? Why? Do you love the person that they arrange for you?"

"Love? What is that?" Yeri asked turning to Seulgi who is as confused as her.

Wendy stared at them with bewildered eyes, they don't know what love is? "Do you have a family?" She asked another. The two nodded. Then... "Do you know what happiness is?"They nodded again. Wendy asked other kinds of feelings and they answered honestly, the only thing that they do not know is the word love.

Later that evening, Seulgi announced that the King arrived, Wendy entertained herself reading books from the Dark world to know even just a little. She closed the book and stood up, greeting the king, she asked the girls how they do it there, to her relief it's just like their world too. The door opened, Wendy then bowed herself.

"Welcome home, Your Highness."
