TWELVE

THIRD PERSON.

"Is this going to work?"

"Definitely not." Jonah sighed, grabbing his jacket as he looked over at the other two guys, "They're going to get suspicious after today."

"Why can't we just cancel this last minute?" Jack suggested, "And say one of us fell ill."

"Or we go on and say Corbyn is ill so he couldn't attend." Zach shrugged.

"But even on voice rest we come and hear the fans sing." Daniel said, grabbing his guitar, "This wont work."

"No shit Daniel." Jonah looked at him, "Did you even get ahold of him when you texted him?"

Daniel shook his head, "He never replied."

"Of course he wouldn't, he probably doesn't want people looking for him." Zach explained, "Just, let's go on and say he couldn't attend."

"No because people will know somethings up." Jack argued as Zach shot him a glare.

"They're going to know eventually!" Zach said as Jack rolled his eyes.

"Ok look," Daniel said, "Let's just say we can't make it."

"And whats our excuse for it?" Jonah asked him as he shrugged.

"I didn't get that far into the idea."

"Maybe we should report him missing," Zach said, sitting down on the couch as Daniel shook his head, "And make sure he doesn't leave again."

"So trapping him in a city he doesn't want to be in? We can't do that-"

"Well how do you know he doesn't want to be in it?" Jack looked at Daniel as he paused and shrugged.

"It was pretty obvious by the look he always had on his face." Zach said.

"That was when he first came back," Jonah told the group, "He improved."

"He could be faking it."

"Boys," Jon said as he walked into the room, "Ready to go?"

"Do we have to?" Zach asked, "We don't want people to know Corbyn isn't there."

"You can't avoid the situation forever but we'll try our best to keep it on the downlow." Jon explained as the group of guys nodded, "We've been trying to get in contact with him but he's shut his phone off."

"He's ruining the bands reputation." Randy spoke up, entering the room, "We're going to lose money and fans."

"We don't care." The group said in unison as Randy looked at them all.

"Shouldn't you be worried about his safety?" Jonah asked.

"I am," Randy nodded, leaving the room again as Jon sighed, opening the door so they could all walk through as they made their way to the stage for their performance on the today show.

As they reached the stage and entered the view of the audience, Jonah explained Corbyn was unable to make it due to an illness he has, and that was recovering in his bed at home, which surprisingly seemed believable and the fans swept it off before they continued with their show.

Although there was some small talk from the audience about Corbyn and how some thought he left again, due to how suspicious it was that the boy was suddenly under the weather when he would never miss a performance, the majority of fans didn't think much of it.

After their show, they returned backstage and all fell onto the couch placed in the back corner of their room, laying in silence as they waited for once of the other members to speak up.

"So what did we do?" Zach asked, breaking the silence as the other members looked at him confused, "We can't do this forever."

"Give him a month or two." Daniel suggested, "He'll come around."

"Are you sure? That's a long time." Jack said.

"Yeah but, we go on a break soon, so it really can't be too difficult." Daniel replied, shrugging slightly as they nodded, "If we cant be active on social media then no one will know he's disappeared."

"True." Zach said, "It's risky though."

"Well, do we go find him?" Jonah asked as they all sat up and looked at him, "Like a road trip? Surely he couldn't be far."

"I don't know," Daniel sighed, "Would he want that?"

"It's what is best." Jack nodded.

"So we go on a road trip when go on our break?" Zach furrowed his eyebrows as they all nodded in agreement.

Daniel was the last to nod his head, turning to look at his phone, trying to resist the urge to let Corbyn know, but also wanting to try his best to stop them from starting the trip. He let out a sigh as he scratched the back of his neck, hoping that the boy would be back before they'd go look for him themselves.
