THIRD PERSON.

"You did put on your swim stuff right?" Corbyn asked Kai as they headed up the hike to one of the bridges that were located over at lake, "If not I'm forcing you to go nude."

"Unlucky for you, I'm wearing my swimsuit." Kai smiled as he frowned, placing a kiss on her cheek before they reached the top of the hike.

Despite their sudden increase of anxiety, worrying about being found at any moment now that people knew about Corbyn's plan, the couple were still wanting to do more fun things before their trip came to an end.

And so the parked Kai's car down an alleyway before heading down a hike trail towards a bridge besides a field, where they were hoping to jump off of after having their own small picnic.

Reaching the small field, Corbyn placed down the picnic blanket and the food on top of it before they sat down and Corbyn's head instantly went to the girls lap.

"I thought we were going to sit and talk," Kai looked at him, running her fingers through the boys hair as he looked up and smiled, quickly nodding.

"We are, I just want my head here." The boy said, receiving a nod from the girl as she took a bite from a strawberry, "What are we gonna do when we get found? Or if we do."

"Keep in contact hopefully," she replied.

"Well duh, but Jason hates me." Corbyn shrugged, "He doesn't know where you are because of me, he probably wants to put me in prison."

"I'll take the blame." Kai told him, "I don't care if I get grounded, I don't talk to anyone there anymore."

"It's weird how the friend group isn't together anymore," Corbyn said, "Did you all just stop talking?"

"Pretty much." The girl nodded, "It was a little more complicated than that but yeah, we don't talk anymore, I'm not really close to anyone from there now."

"I just know you and Jack would get along so well," the boy laughed as he spoke, "You should meet them."

"Yeah well, that's never gonna happen." She sighed, "Daniel seems cool though."

"Daniel is amazing."

"It's gonna feel weird not seeing you all the time," Kai mumbled, an upset tone in her voice as Corbyn looked at her, "It's like my dad wants my entire life to be in Lakeside and I really want to achieve big things."

"Like what?"

"I want to be a fashion designer." She said, "But I cant reach many people in Lakeside and I have no idea how to even start that career."

"A fashion designer would suit you so much," the boy said, receiving a small nod from Kai, "Don't give up on it though, I'm sure you can do that."

"It's just weird, all of this." Kai then quickly changed the subject as a confused expression appeared on Corbyn's face, "My dad made everywhere else other than Lakeside seem so scary but since leaving the town I've never felt better."

"Some parts can be dangerous but for the most part it's actually fun," Corbyn nodded.

"He made it out that as soon as I left Lakeside I'd be murdered." She sighed, "When I've literally got along with 50 people in this bar while drunk, they seemed so nice."

"Oh my god we need to go back to that bar."

"We do!" She smiled, "I just wish that I knew the world wasn't as scary as I thought it would be because now I don't want to go back, Lakeside seems more scary than the world."

"But also remember we've kept away from most people," Corbyn told her, "I promised to keep you safe and I've done that, I won't always be here to protect you."

"I love it." Kai shrugged, "With you or without it seems so fun, I cant live in Lakeside for the rest of my life."

"Yeah all my life is there but I don't want it to be," she continued as Corbyn close listened, "I want to experience new things, like what we are doing everyday."

"It makes me kind of sad," Corbyn replied, "In less than two weeks we'll be back to our cities and this will all be like a fever dream."

"Oh god don't say that," she shook her head, "I'm dreading the end of this trip."

"San Fransisco is our next stop and that's close to where I live, we have to be extra careful there." Corbyn looked at her, grabbing ahold of her hand, "Then I'm driving you home-"

"It's not home." Kai interrupted him as he sighed.

"Then I'm driving you back to Lakeside," he corrected himself, a frown on his face, "And we'll be back to our normal lives."

"Are you scared for it?"

Corbyn paused, giving himself a moment to think before he slowly nodded, "..Yeah, I'm terrified. Are you?"

"I can't stop thinking about it," the girl replied, both of them letting out sighs before falling into a content silence, all on their minds was the end of the next two weeks, and how everything it going to come to an end.

But they weren't sure if it would be sooner than that, knowing people were out looking for them as they spoke and that each second to them seemed risky.
