he didn't know whether he was excited or nervous or if it was a mixture of both but if he was sure of one thing it was knowing that he was ready for what was about to come, years of training and developing a new fighting style, training to become better and stronger just to get to this moment and from this moment on they will go from target to target destroying all the trash heroes out there and everything they created
their target was some kind of hideout where dirty heroes meet up, either to trade some kind of drugs human trafficking and some other illegal, when shigaraki had told him about it bakugou didn't hesitate to tell him that what he is saying is bullshit until he saw actual footage of it, it was a huge plot twist in bakugou's life, it was like the straw that broke the camel's back.
and now everything led to this moment to them on the tallest building in the city looking down at it as if to memorize it before it gets erased from existence
wearing his hero outfit bakugou stood next to dabi who was sitting down dangling his feet in the air "this is it huh" dabi let out his eyes meeting the blonde's red ones who gave him a nod in return as he sat beside him, dabi let out a chuckle "how does it feel?"
bakugou gave him a confused look and dabi let out a sigh as a tiny smile grazed his lips "being a villain, how does it feel? I never go to ask you that, you always thrived to be a hero and now you the opposite with everyone in the world against us, how does it feel?" the brunet asked turning his eyes back to the city under them

the answer got dabi to laugh as he returned his gaze to the blonde "seriously that's your answer?"
"I always wanted to be a hero, always, to be like all might with everyone looking up at me, being at the top" it was the blondes turn to turn his gaze to meet the other's "it's like everything I ever wanted changing, I don't know when it did but at some point, I just stopped wanting it, but I know for sure that my starting point was ever since that day" the blonde's voice was soft in a way he only found himself speaking in when he joined the league
dabi gave him a nod his gaze not wavering "but I don't regret it" the blonde told him "ever since I got into this, I didn't regret it not for a second,"
the brunet next to him raised an eyebrow at him as the tiny smile he had on widened slightly "im flattered katsuki, I am"
bakugou snorted "you should be I don't talk fondly of just anyone" he informed the other making a chuckle leave the stitched guy
bakugou let his body fall backward his back hitting the cement of the roof as he closed his eyes "your guys are my heroes" he whispered and if the brunet next to him wasn't as close as he was to him he would have missed it, after a few minutes of silence a shuddering sigh left dabi as he stood up "no one called me a hero before" he said
"you guys saved me you know when no one else was willing to, you're heroes to me no matter what anyone else says and nothing will change that" bakugou answered as he let his eyes open looking at the stretched hand that belonged to dabi, he grabbed the hand and let the other pull him up to his feet giving the older guy a slight ug to his hand as if to comfort him before letting go of it
they stayed there standing looking from above down to the city for a few more minutes before a signal from shigaraki finally got them to move "dabi, katsuki, make sure to make a mess of everything you pass" shigaraki told them when they passed him, they gave him acknowledging nods as they went to their position
he and dabi were assigned to make the biggest destruction giving their quirks were designed for this kind of work while toga spinner and twice and along with them shigaraki were going to the hideout to eliminate all the 'heroes' there
"We have one hour to make this happen and then we all meet in the city's center where I expect katsuki and dabi to have done the most damage," kurogiri said in a collected voice, he was to stay on the building and when its time he will open the portals for 10 minutes before closing them and that is why each one of them is expected to be there on time
