Chapter 14 - Speedy Recovery

Everyone were doing their job by helping San recover quickly so that he could get back to normal. Shelbi took San to the doctors for a check up to see how his wound is doing. "Shelbi, I'm fine! Stop worrying, it's nothing. I'm getting a lot better because I have amazing friends and family who are taking care of me." San said as he chuckled slightly.

Shelbi glanced at him with a dumb look. "Sannie~ Of course I'm gonna still worry about you. You are one of my best friends and I am not leaving you for a second!"

San smiled lovingly at her and hugged her. "And you are one of the most important people in my life who I love so much that I couldn't see you get hurt!"

Shelbi glanced up and looked deep into San's eyes for a while until they were interrupted by someone clearing their throat to get their attention. "San! Would you and your girlfriend like to come inside?" He smiled at them both who blushed.

"Y-Yes! Our apologies doctor!" San stuttered and Shelbi spoke next.

"I-I'm not his girlfriend. I'm his best friend!" She said as the doctor chuckled.

"Okay! My apologies for the confusion, but you two look cute together." He said as Shelbi and San walked into the office and the doctor started explaining how San's wound is doing. "Okay, it looks like your wound is healing very well, San. Keep applying some cream and new bandages on that wound and take it easy."

San smiled at the doctor and nodded. "Thank you doctor!"

Shelbi smiled at both of them, feeling happy and relieved about the great news. "How long would we still need to apply the cream and bandages on him for?"

The doctor smiled. "Until San can feel no pain that means he will be fully healed within a week or two. Also once the bandages and cream do their part, in a couple of days before leave the bandages off and let some air touch the wound for a few days. I'm sure there will be no need for the bandages for the time being."

"Thank you so much doctor! You had saved him from the worst and I will be forever grateful. He is the most important person in my life and I don't know what I would've done without him if he was gone." Shelbi said with tears running down her face as San grabbed one of her hands and the doctor with the other.

"Of course! I can see that both of you love each other deeply and the strong bond that you both have is an inseparable one. Don't lose that bond and I hope you both have an amazing future together." He replied back and again Shelbi and San blushed, thanked the doctor again and left the hospital to go home.

Shelbi was driving back and San had been quiet on the way back and just watching Shelbi with love and devotion in his eyes. How could someone be so loving, caring, funny, kind and amazing at the same time? He was really lucky to have someone like her. Although he had amazing friends and family, but they don't rate what Shelbi means to him.

When they arrived back at the house, Shelbi turned the car off and glanced over at San, who still hadn't left his gaze on her. "Sannie~ Is everything okay?"

San blinked and shook his head, coming back to reality and smiled. "Yes, sorry I was having a moment." He replied back.

He got out of the car carefully and went around to the driver's side, opened the door and helped her out. Shelbi was a bit confused at the gesture, but felt like and actual lady being helped out by a handsome gentleman. San shut the car door and glanced down at her, placing a hand on her cheek. "Shelbi, I've been thinking a lot and I know you and Sehun had recently broke up but I can't hold myself back anymore."

Shelbi's eyes widened. "S-San, what are you saying?"

San closed his eyes and took a deep breath before answering. "Shelbi, will you do me the honour of becoming my girlfriend? I love you and I will always be there for you, love and cherish you. You don't have to answer me right at this minute, but I would like you to think it over and you can come to me with your answer when you are ready. I will always wait for you no matter how long it takes."

Shelbi was just speechless by San's proposal and she was having a lot of mixed feelings. She loved this man in front of her with all of her heart and soul, but he was right to give her some time to think about it and it made her fall in love with her best friend even more. "Thank you, Sannie~ I will have some time to think about it and will give you an answer soon, but lets get you inside so that the others can see you." She smiled and grabbed his hand, leading him into the house and was greeted by everyone there.

"Hey guys! How did the appointment go?" Seonghwa asked and San smiled.

"It went really well. The doctor said that my wound is healing nicely and just to apply some more cream and bandages on for the next week or two and to let some air on the wound before I'm fully healed." San replied back and everyone smiled and hugged him.

They were pre-occupied with everyone and Shelbi smiled at them all before going to her room. Ashlea and Carrie noticed and followed their sister to check if she was okay. "Shelbi? Are you okay? Can we come in?" Ashlea asked and Shelbi opened her door.

"Yeah... You can come in." She said quietly as she tried to hold back the tears that were threatening to fall. The girls got worried and hugged her as they sat on her bed.

"What happened?" Carrie asked and Shelbi sighed.

"San, asked me to be his girlfriend but he said that he would give me time to think about it and give him an answer when I'm ready." She explained and the girls gasped and smiled at her.

"OMG!!!!" They both exclaimed, fangirling which made Shelbi giggle.

"Do you love him?" Ashlea asked.

Shelbi nodded and the girls squealed again as the three of them laughed. "Shelbi, don't rush. Take your time and when you are ready, go tell your man and take a chance. I know that he will never hurt you. He is the most loving, kind, caring, trustworthy and reliable human being we have ever met!" Carrie explained and Ashlea nodded in agreement.

"You really think so?" Shelbi asked, unsure.

"We know so!" They both said in unison.

"Okay! I'll give it another go." Shelbi nodded and the girls hugged her before going out, leaving her by herself with her thoughts."
