B:
I woke up with my head on Zack's chest, laying in the cove he had taken me too. I smiled looking at his sleeping face and sat up realising we had actually slept in the cave. I looked out at the waves and lost myself.
"Morning beautiful." Zack said from behind me. I turned to see his smiling face. "Were we here all night?"
"Yeah. You fell asleep and I didn't want to wake you up." He said; sitting up and putting his arm around me. I had a mini freak out and jumped up to start looking for my shoes and vest.
"Oh my god, my mom and dad are gonna kill me! Especially when they find out i was with you."
"Woah, babe calm down a sec." Zack said trying to get me to calm down.
"Calm down?! I'll be grounded for an eternity and my dad will kill you. I don't have time to calm down! Damn it, I'm gonna need an excuse." I rambled on, trying to get my vest on as fast as possible. Zack grabbed me by the shoulders and lightly shook me.
"Brooke! You already have one."
"Huh?" I asked him; puzzled.
"They think that your at Sel's right now. They think you slept over there." He let go of me and sat in one of the chairs still set up from last night. "I made sure to take care of it after you fell asleep." He looked exhausted all of a sudden. I went over and sat on his lap and kissed his head.
"Thanks baby." We both just sat there staring out at the waves for the longest time, and just lost ourselves together.
~•~ one week later ~•~
"Brooke! Alexander is waiting! Hurry up!" My mom shouted at me from the intercom.
"Yeah yeah, give me a minute will you?!" I screamed back at her. I was probably the only kid in the world who could get away with that.
"Fine." She replied as I went over and looked in the mirror. I had died all of my hair a maroon red just a few days earlier and was dressed in my high heeled black suede boots with my black skinny jeans and a brown, sleeveless turtle neck shirt with my black finger-less gloves. I went downstairs, dragging my feet as I went. Today was my first day of 10th grade and I was not looking forward to being the new girl at school.
As I sat in the limo, I thought about the phone conversation I had had with Chloe the night before. I had found out from her that things back home just fell apart not long after I left. Andy got really depressed and hardly did anything for weeks and just the other day, he had moved away. Chloe and Josh's relationship fell apart. They had started fighting more and more, getting worse and worse, until it finally ended. I felt terrible and even invited Chloe to come stay with me. She had said that she didn't know. I had sat on the phone crying with her for awhile, and then continued sobbing after she had hung up the phone. I was exhausted and not in the mood to deal with high school.
"Have a good day miss." Alexander said to me as he dropped me off about a half mile from school. It was my first day of school and I was already going to be branded the new girl, I didn't feel that being dropped off in a limo would do much good.
"Thanks." I said and shut the door. The walk to school wasn't long and I enjoyed the quiet. It was a nice, sunny day and it didn't bother me to walk alone. Once I got to the large brick building that was the school, Zack and Ash pulled up into a parking space and jumped out. Zack came over to me and hugged and kissed me.
"Hey babe, ready for your first day?" he asked me.
"Not really." I meekly replied as Ash walked past us into the building.
