That was his hero name.

"U-um, yeah?" Midoriya answered a bit hesitantly, "W-why do y-you ask?"

"What do you know about it?" Nedzu inquired.

"I-it's another way o-of reading Izuku...?" Midoriya wasn't going to directly admit anything. He didn't know this world's memories. Izuku didn't even know the laws of this place.

Aizawa stared Midoriya down, watching as the green-headed boy attempted not to squirm under his gaze. "Is that all?"

"W-with all d-due respect, w-why do y-you ask?"

"It must be fair trade, Midoriya. What do you know of the name Deku?"

Midoriya's lips pressed into a grim line. Nedzu merely smiled, "Perhaps we should explain the situation to you..."

Needless to say, Izuku Midoriya walked out of there drowning in disbelief.

He had heroics last, and that relieved Midoriya. It meant he still had time. Time to somehow come up with a valid reason as to why he knows the name 'Deku' aside from Kacchan.

Aside from Kacchan...

Izuku hadn't talked to much of his friends lately, has he? Izuku blames it on his situation, he's too busy, he's stressed but...

He can't just ignore his friends. So when he made it to the lunch table, the first thing he did was apologize.

That surely caused a round of laughter. "Midori! You're busy and we know!" Ashido said, "don't stress it, it's fine."

Midoriya smiled gratefully, "thanks."

"'Newayz," Hagakure said, "why were you coming to school with Tokoyami-san?"

"That's not exactly my situation to share."

This made Ashido and the others more curious. Yaoyorozu was the one who spoke next, "Is it a personal issue?"

Midoriya nodded, "Tokoyami's, not mine."

Ashido was going to inquire but Yaoyorozu cut her off, "Ashido-san, we can't interfere if it's not our issue."

("Meddling when you're not supposed to is what heroes do!")

Ashido frowned, "but what if we can help Tokoyami-san somehow?"

"It's none of our business, Ashido," Hagakure sounded somewhat annoyed, which Ashido obviously didn't catch.

"But it was none of Midori's business when he decided to help us but he did it anyway."

"That's different," Kaminari said, "Midori wants to help everyone. You don't have to."

"But I want to," Ashido Mina's eyes glinted with the resolve of something very familiar to Midoriya, a resolve of a hero. The resolve of someone that Midoriya thought he'd never see again. "I want to help people, like Midori. I want to see them smile after I try."

Kaminari stays silent at that.

"Haven't you ever tried to help someone after Midori helped you?"

~~~
"You and Nedzu are insane."
All For One looked amused as he stared as his student, "Perhaps."
Midoriya sighed, "Let me get this straight... You want me to fill up the hero course in a year?"
