Hazel
Hazel had finally reached a descison. Sammy/Leo was her past, and Frank was her future. Besides, it would be a bit creepy dating Leo, who could have possibly been her great grandson, if Gaia had not forced her and her mother to go to Alaska. Just thinking about being Leo's grandmother spooked her.
She looked over at Leo, who was trying to distingush his burning hands. They usually lit up when he was excited, she noticed. Frank was backing into a corner, freaked out. Hazel patted his piece of firewood in her coat pocket.
"Wish we had Percy here! These flames won't seem to go OUT!" Leo said, while wildly waving his hands about in the air.
"Cut it out." Piper said, thumping the back of Leo's head. "You'll set the boat a light, and trust me, we do not want an australian bushfire."
Leo grinned like a 5 year old kid, and continued trying to put the flames out.
"I'll set course for Camp Half-Blood, the sooner we get there, the better." said Jason, grabbing the wheel and punching in a few instructions.
As the Argo 2 made a violent turn, Hazel grabbed the side of the railing, her queasyness nearly over coming her. Sea travel was one of her weaknesses.
Give up, and join me, little Hazel. Surely you do not wish to experience death again?
Hazel had to fight hard against the voice of Gaia. She was weak-willed, just like her mother, who had had her own sticky end.
You know that you will die if you go along with your silly idea that you can stop me. If you join me, you could serve me and receive everything you've ever wanted in return. I could bring your mother back, and she would no longer have to wonder in Asphodel.
Hazel gasped tearfully as her mother's face flashed in her mind. Yes, Gaia could bring her back, but she wouldn't, and she'd kill Hazel as soon as she had finished with her. No, fight for what you believe in. Keep Calm and Carry On, was the old WW2 motto. She was going to keep going until the day she died, which, for all she knew, could be tomorrow, or the day after that.
Thinking of this, Hazel thought, why carry on? If she was going die anyway, why not just turn herself over to Gaia, and fight on the winning side?
But these were not Hazel's thoughts, and Hazel knew that.
"You killed my mother Gaia, so now I'm going to kill all your sons and smash your face into the ground." Hazel muttered under breath.
"What? Did you just say you were going to kill someone's sons, and smash their face into the ground?" asked Frank with a worried look on his face.
"Don't worry, it's nothing." Hazel said quickly.
Frank looked skeptical, but decided not to push the matter any further.
Hazel found it hard to remain vigilant. This was not a war of guns and nuclear bombs. This was a war of Giant's and evil Earth mothers.
Yet somehow, they were going to win this war. Hazel just knew it.
A bit of detail in this, but I thought a bit of description wouldn't hurt! Post reviews and comments! Gigi xoxo.
