Who am I?

My grandmother once told me, that a when a soul moves on to find a new body to live in, it searches for a similar one to it's previous owner. Honestly, that time, I did not believe her. I did not believe that a thing called the 'soul' actually existed , but today.... my mind was changed.

It's very sad to leave the world you grew up in, especially at a young age like mine. Even if I wasn't anyone important, I still liked living, and enjoying the little things in life. But before I could even graduate High School, i lost my life. The detail's of my death are not important, since I couldn't care. But I at least wished to say goodbye.

I bet my mother and father are worried about me.......I'm sorry but I let you down. I bet you wanted me to grow up and live a long life. Even though I don't believe it, I hope....in my next life......my soul will be able to stay in one body a lot longer...

-Miss, please wake up.-Someone softly said to me. My body was numb and I could barely move, yet I felt warm and comfortable. -Miss Camille!- In a second I felt cold as she ripped the blanket right off of me.

I finally opened my eyes, only to find myself somewhere unrecognizable to me, yet familiar. I sit up on my maid to face a young woman dressed in a handmaids gown. My face was blank and I was confused beyond belief.

-Miss, I know you have a hard time waking up early, but you said yesterday that you would be willing to wake up early to go out to town!-The maid said, irritated, but polite. -Seems you are having breakfast in bed, I'll go get it for you.-She said and left the room.

The first thing I thought to do, was hop out of bed, and figure out what is happening to her. Looking around, the room she had slept in was gorgeous beyond belief. Gold and silver was on the furniture and murals decorated the ceiling.

-Grandma.......somehow...you were right...-I muttered to myself. A gold decorated mirror sparkled in the corner of my eye. First of all.....find out who I am! I rushed to the mirror and stopped in front of it.

I was shocked. I looked fairly similar to my old self. My hair was still the same brown color, yet it was much thinner and went down to my waist. I still had my abnormal hazel eyes, but the color was more beautiful and cleaner. My skin was more smooth, no pimples or scars. It looked like me, but..........I look much prettier.

Ah, grandma mentioned the soul searches for someone similar to it's old self, so I guess that was also true. -Camille.....-I whispered under my nose, looking at myself in the mirror.

I heard the door klunk and quickly got back to the bed. The same maid entered the room with a silver platter in hand, and put it on a small table over my lap. On the platter, was a plate with well-done steak and rice. There was also a bowl filled with salad. And a glass of milk as well. -Here you go miss.-She said.

I stared at the platter for a long time. Is this what nobles eat for breakfast? It was too much, normally I would have a bowl of cereal or something. Without asking any unnecessary questions, I ate the breakfast. It felt as if my stomach was going to burst open.

I looked at the maid next to me, 'Anne' Something whispered in the back of my ear. Is her name Anne?

-Ma'am, are you ready to go?-She asked in the midst of me staring at her. I quickly snapped out of it and nodded. I closed my eyes, and searched for information on me inside my head. Camille Spencer, Daughter of Count Spencer, 16 years old. Those words rung a bell in my ear, and reminded me of a novel I liked to read a lot. 'Lovebirds Of Tomorrow'. A romance-thriller that was very popular.

The reason I got reminded of this novel, was because the antagonist, was also named Camille Spencer....wait...no way..... Don't tell me......

I hop out of bed and rush over to my balcony. I burst through the thin glass doors and look at the town in front of me.

Streets as big as 2 carriages. Filled with shops and cafes, with people at every street corners. Majors belonging to countless nobles...this is.....the world of Lovebirds of Tomorrow!
