Chap 10: Threat

I regretted following Mike to school early today, now I'm stuck in class with everyone begging me to explain the maths assignment given to us yesterday

"...and that's how you get the answer" I finished explaining, they thanked me and rushed to submit

"Thank God for this teachers meeting" Danny yawn loudly stretching his hands in the air

"Close your guttar abeg before you swallow somebody" Janet said using her maths text book to slap his mouth shut

"Ow" he whined

While they were busy bickering with each other my eyes remained fixed at the entrance of the class

"Lover boy who are you looking for?" Mike teased and I scowled at him

"Wait don't tell me" Danny faced me

"He likes her" Cynthia giggled, Amaka and Janet's attention were now on me

"Shhhh nau"

"You like her bah?" Janet asked grinning from ear to ear

"Of course now, have you not seen how close both of them are" Mike winked at me and I shot him a warning glare, I've been embarrased enough

I laid my head on the table as they kept pestering me with more questions until they got tired.

"Guys Stephanie and her clique are at it again o" someone yelled, I took a peak and saw it was Bola, the popular gossiper of the school

She can gossip for Africa ehh

She's always at Stephanie's heels to find out her next move and announce it, that's the funny part of it, but then she can be a backstabber sometimes, she can never keep a secret, and once you tell her, it will spread like wildfire

Few of the students were not interested in what she had to say and continued what there doing

I laid my head back on the table not caring about what she was saying, Danny and Mike continued their game while Amaka, Janet and Cynthia continued their discussion.

"Who are they harassing this time?" a boy ask

"What's that her name again....ah yes Adah and it doesn't look good o" At the mention of Adah's name my head shot up

Amaka was already on her feet. "I swear if that girl touch Adah" she swore as we left the class to where the commotion was going on

I pushed and squeezed through the crowd only to see Adah in a devastating state on the floor, she looks like she was fighting for air, clawing at her throat, pulling her hair and tears streaming down her cheeks. She was having a panic attack and instead of helping everyone stood watching, some making comments and some videoing the scene, that angered me

"Wow, what a scene" someone said beside me with a smirk on her face, I snatched her phone and smashed it on the ground, making sure it was completely damaged and ran over to Adah

I didn't know what to do, so I just said whatever that came to my mind

"Adah look at me, look into my eyes, just breathe ok? Slowly, in and out, listen to my voice" I said wiping her tears with my thumb. Her eyes bored into mine and her breathing became stable again, I heaved a sigh of relief

Just then Chima came from the opposite direction, she glanced at Adah and then Stephanie and her group, her eyes scanning each of them before landing back on Stephanie in a very unsettling way, anger seething out of her eyes. And in just a blink of an eye her hand landed on Stephanie's right cheek with an incredible force that sent her to kiss the floor
