I woke, seeing his head on the pillow next to mine. Sound asleep and looking so handsome. I thought back on last night, how drunk I was, but I wasn't drunk enough that i didn't remember what happened.

We talked after the kiss, we drank wine, a lot of it-Well I did! Things got a little heated between us and I remember the feeling of how much I wanted him. Zach said that it wasn't the right time and nothing happened after that. We fell asleep together and now I'm completely mortified.

Maybe I should make a run for the bathroom and avoid the embarrassment before he wakes up. I moved the sheet off me and sat up quietly.

"Where do you think you're going?"He said, and wrapped his arm around me pulling me over to him."Were you trying to do a runner before I woke up?"

"Um, Maybe! I was going to go back to my room to shower and change."That and most likely argue in the mirror with myself for thirty minutes about getting drunk around him.

I really need to make better choices.

"You don't need to do that. We have the day to relax."He remained a little bit of distance between us, with his arm around me and his fingers laced with mine."So last night, how are you feeling about it?"

Could he tell that it was on my mind? Maybe it was on his too."Well I might be a little embarrassed. It's been a long time since I drank that much so I'm a bit of a lightweight."

"You had three glasses."He chuckled.

"Well it's two more than I'm used to."I chuckled back."I got a bit carried away, I didn't mean to force myself on you like that."

"I didn't mind it, Trust me. The feeling was mutual. You were drunk and I was trying to be a decent guy, not that you made it easy on me."

I chuckled again."Sorry about that!"

Zach turned me around in the bed so I was facing him."I want you, Kate. Believe me I do. I want our first night together to be special."

I knew how much he wanted me, I could feel it between us now that we weren't as far apart. I wanted him to, but like Zach I wanted it to be special and not just a spur of the moment thing.

Last night I was drunk and I felt ready, but I'm not. Not completely!! Getting to know each other some more would be better.

I was looking at him, admiring just how handsome he was."That sounds good to me."

"Let's dock for the day, I know a great place where we can have lunch."Zach cuddled me closer and shifted his hand up so it was placed on my neck." But I wouldn't mind staying here for a little longer."

I never would of pegged him as a man that was big on cuddling, I wasn't going to complain about it. I was lapping up the time being so close to him.

Zach and I were walking along a row of cute little stores, when he reached his hand across the space between us and laced his fingers with mine. I liked the close contact between us, but at the same time I was warning myself not to get too attached.

He stopped outside a jewelry shop and looked in the window. I was a little taken back when I looked at the price tags of most of the jewelry that was on display in the window, but I know it should be expected from a man as rich as Zach.

He has money and he likes the finer things in life. It isn't a bad thing, it's just not what I'm used to. With Liam It was a comfortable life because he was a man with money too. Before him and after I was used to scraping by to make ends meet.

"Do you mind if we go in?"He asked." I've to pick up a birthday present for my Grandmother?"

"Sure."We walked inside and started to look around. Everything that I could see was priced in the thousands, not anything that I could afford if I had the money."So what's your Grandmother like?"

"My Grandmother- She likes to live an extravagant lifestyle. Like expensive jewelry for example."He looked down at the display cases filled with sparkling diamonds."She basically raised me since I didn't have a mother figure in my life. She's getting old now, it's my time to take care of her."

I looked at him and grinned, at how caring he is."She's a lucky woman to have a grandson like you."

"I'm the lucky one."He smiled, and pointed to a bracelet in the display case."I think she will like this one. What do you think?"

"That's perfect. You should get it for her." I looked around some more while Zach paid for his Grandmother's gift. An item of jewelry caught my eye, a necklace of teardrop diamonds that was out of my price range.

Zach's arm snaked around my waist from behind, causing butterflies in my stomach at the sudden contact."Do you see anything you like?"

I pointed to the teardrop necklace."This one, but they're all beautiful and way out of my price range. I'd have to sell a kidney to afford something with this price tag."

He chuckled."Let me get it for you."

"What?"I turned around and looked at him, shaking my head."No, That's way too much. I don't want you spending money on me."

"I want to spend money on you. I want to spoil you, Kate. It's what you deserve. I want to make you happy."His words encoded in my head. It was a reminder of a time Liam told me the exact same thing. A time when he was buying my Love to make up for bruising my face.

FLASHBACK

I was stood in front of my bathroom mirror, applying make up to my face to cover up the bruising. It hurt to touch, but it hurt more to see it when passing a mirror or seeing my reflection on something.

It happened again. He got angry with me and lashed out over insecurities of his own. Afterwards Liam gave me a speech of how it will never happen again, but we both know that it will. It's only a matter of time.

I heard the noise of the front door as it closed."Babe, I'm back!"Liam called, and I heard his footsteps down the hall. He walked into the room just as I walked out of the bathroom."There you are."

"Here I am."I mustered a smile. Where else would I be, Is what I wanted to say to him, it's not as if I'll be leaving the apartment with a face like this.

He looked at my face, noticing that I was wearing make up."Are you going somewhere?"

"No I was just covering up the um.."I paused, deciding that it was best not to get into it. I don't want to piss him off anymore.

"Right, I guess that's best."He turned around, placing a gift bag on the bed and opening it up."Come here. I have something for you."

I walked towards him, feeling nervous just like I always do around him these days."What is it?"

He opened up the box to show me a pretty diamond necklace displayed inside. Instantly I knew that he was trying to buy my love, just to make up for last night."What do you think?"

I felt an enormous pit in my stomach, knowing that I was going to have to put on the act and pretend that it was the perfect gesture and all was forgiven."Of course I do. But you know you didn't have to buy me anything?"

"I wanted to. You know you could be grateful and just say thank you."He sounded more pissed off now than he did a few moments earlier.

"Thank you, I love it."I smiled, again.

"Turn around and I'll put it on."Liam took the jewelry from it's box while I turned around. I had a shiver from the contact of him placing the jewelry around my neck and clasping it."I'm sorry about last night. I was worried. You know how it makes me feel when I can't reach you."

"I'm sorry. It won't happen again, I promise."

"Make sure that it doesn't."He pressed a kiss to my shoulder and walked out of the room.
