Change of plan, I decided to be the bigger person and go to the party with Zach.
I love him and I want to spend time with him, nothing else should matter.

Zach's mouth hung open in shock as I walked down the stairs, the floor length dress I was wearing trailed each step I took.
"Wow!! You look stunning, Kate."

Michelle was a great help when it came to the dress

Michelle was a great help when it came to the dress. I thought it was a little to much, but it is a fancy event after all.
Zach is in a tuxedo, I need to look as good as him."

"Thank you."I walked over to him, instantly pulled into his arms and kissing him.
"I'm so glad that I went to all this effort because you look hot."

He groaned."I don't want to go now."

I chuckled."I know exactly what you mean..But we have to.
You don't want to let your Grandmother down on her Birthday."

"You're too good."Zach walked towards the kitchen and picked up a black velvet box from the island. "I have a little something for you,Tonight seems like the perfect time to give it to you."

"I don't want anything for you,Zach. I told you that."

"Please,Kate. It's just a little something."He opened up the box, and my fingers went to the familiar necklace that was inside.
It's the same one from that jewelry store we went to on our weekend away.

I gasped."I can't believe you did this."

"Well I remembered how much you liked it and I couldn't resist.
Would you mind turing around so I can put it on?"

I turned around while Zach took the necklace out of the box. He stood closer, placing it on my neck and doing the silver clasp.
It was a extravagant necklace that wouldn't be worn day to day but on a special occasion.

"Do you like it?"

I turned around and smiled at him."I love it.
I can't believe you spent this much money on me."

"You're worth it,Kate."Zach placed an arm around me."Let's get going, the sooner we get going the sooner I can have you all to myself."

Zach and I were making our way through the party with champagne glasses in hand.
There's been no sign of his Grandmother yet..But I'm sure she won't be long.
After what happened the last time I saw her, I know I'm just going to have to forgive and forget. I can't hold onto this if I'm planning on spending my life with Zach.
Being at odds with his Grandmother is just going to make things worse for him and that's not fair.

"Your Grandmother sure does like to throw an extravagant party."I looked around her massive home.
"She should be a party planner."

"Well she does this every year just incase it's her last."he explained.

"That's a little morbid!!"
